    Default How to pronounce Franchi?

I have heard a few different people say it, each one said it differently. SO I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to say it correctly.

    Is it franky?
    fran-chee?
    Fran-key?

Makes sense to me, but if you said "Frankie," who would mind?

Yeah, if you call Wendy "Windy" she won't mind either... or McDonald's "McDinaold's"... or Benelli "Barnelli"...

The correct pronouciation, which is what was requested, is "Fron-key".

RoadDad is correct. The a is soft, and the ch is pronounced as a k.

By the way, Porsche is pronounced POR shuh.

And Garand (as in the M-1) rhymes with errand.

    ;-)

Franchi is an Italian brand, hence the pronunciation with short a sound and the ch making the 'K' sound. The only time in italian that the letter c is involved in making a 'CHA' sound is when it is followed by 'i' as in ciao
