Rusty Knight
Trying to decide on which model y'all perfer and why? I'm leaning toward the M1. However as I understand it from another thread there may be some cycling issues for lighter loads and the M1. The shotgun would serve me as an informal skeet gun and for dove and quail. Thnaks in advance for your opines. Rusty, We Band of Brothers!
Robert II
Montrefeltro is slightly lighter and it holds 4 rounds in longer forearm rather than 3 . I went with the Montrofeltro, wood rather than plastic. Best, Robert [ 10-31-2004, 01:58 PM: Message edited by: Robert II ]
Drundel
I'm kinda toying over the same thing for when(if) I go to south america. I think right now I am leaning towards a 391 Sporting 20. It weights more than the normal 20 ga. so it hopefully will be easier on my shoulder.
Robert II
Drundel, Don't forget the 4 shot Mag extension will add weight too. Best, Robert

Drundel
Robert II: I asked my buddies who have been to SA about using mag extentions and none of them do. That kinda makes me wonder...
Robert II
I have not been there, but I have heard that they are useful when the birds are hot and heavy. I am planning on one for my 20. The 4 shot extension is already on the SBE and I love it!!. Great for all non hunting restricted events (Crows and Jays disagree). pheasantshooter
Rusty, I have an M1 20ga w/ 4shot ext. I love it! Works great for hiking after chuckars and plently of fire power when they flush. I have also used it in SD for pheasants and it's been a killing machine. I have never had any issues with cycling light load shells. I love the durability of the synthetic stock for "real" hunting experiences. I have beautiful Montefeltros, but am always thinking about scratching the wood. They always function perfectly as well. The boy has a short stock Monteleltro and it has some light scratches already, but that can be expected from normal use. You can accessorize the M1 to your liking. I have a sling on the M1 that really comes in handy. You can't go wrong with either.
