69beers
Is there much of a difference between #5 and #6 shot when it comes to knock down and penetration past 40 yards?
Robert II
Yes, you will need at least #4 lead or Hevi-shot # 5 Best, Robert
boo
I have a SBE 11 and a friend had me try Remington Hevi Shot turkey load 1225 fps #4s with buffer in them.I was useing a Briley LT Mod X2 choke at 40 yards and it smoked the pattern board a small bird would not have made it.They kicked alot more then I thought they were going to as for me they got my vote and thats what I`m going to use on turkey.Try them I think you will agree, hunt safe and be safe. ohiohunter
I like the 5's. it's the inbatween. The 6's are tighter but don't have the knock down as the #4's but the 4's don't like the stay tight for long distances. I have shot my nova at targets out to 65yds. with rem. hevi shot #5's and it penatreaded a 1/4" plywood atleast 35 pellets went thru.
