  1. It took me less than 1/2 hour. Easy, IMO, with the Stranger Danger instructions. Just my humble additions....... My concern was using the heatgun “inside” of the plastic stock. No issues but I only used the gun for about 20 seconds each time and checked to make sure the plastic wasn’t softening. Probably worried about nothing. My vice is holding another project right now so I gave it a shot just holding the stock between my knees and had no issues. Vice grips worked fine for holding the stud to loosen the slave nut. No marring to the stud. I used an 18” extension on the 13mm socket. That gave me kind of an extra hand during reassembly. I used it to hold the stud/slave nut while I installed the springs and retainer. The retainer is threaded so the long extension made it easy to turn the threaded stud into the retainer with the assistance of the floor and gravity holding it all together.

  2. Oh no! Look what arrived via UPS this evening. Do I start drinking before or after the attempted swap-out? It's hard to tell from the photo, but it is a Noveski.

  3. Yesterday after about two hours of fitting forearms my M4 was completed and finally brought to life. Or, brought back to life I should say! It's been a 10 month process with a lot of ups and downs. These downs ended up having me reassemble the entire M4 essential on my own. NP3 plated in and out and many aftermarket upgrades. I certainly learned a lot and know much more about this platform than I ever did. StrangerDanger and Vertcofiremarms were sounding boards throughout my journey and that was very much appreciated. I want to put out what an awesome individual Stranger Danger is. He took his valuable time on many occasions to answer my countless questions. Always responding with a will to help and a courteous attitude yet he owed me nothing. SD is a tremendous resource and a credit to this forum. I have never interacted with anyone with his level of firearm knowledge that didn't act like they were guarding the launch codes. Thank you for your help, advice and fantastic tutorials. Enough gushing. Now I have to find time to sight this day ruiner in!

  4. Thanks for the excellent instructions! I just finished installing one of SOCOMguy’s high quality 7-shot magazine tubes (and a new spring and 922(r) follower - and these instructions were invaluable. I wish everything in life went as smoothly...

  5. Double check your box, the appropriate mounting accessories have should been inside. Purchased the same for my 11707 and came as advertised. The packages are small, and scalar works packs in 50 items, like stickers, within th case. Fasteners #6-32x0.4375" flat-head (Nylok® treated, torqued @ 15in*lbs), #8-40x0.25" flat-head (Nylok® treated), #8-40x0.20" captive

  6. I own a M1014 with several FFT parts installed including FFT's NP3 trigger kit. My NP3 trigger kit resides in an A&S Trigger/Frame. As many have described in this "disconnector fails to re-set" thread- after installing the FFT and A&S assemblies, the disconnector would hang up on its mated catch-tang on the hammer after a round was fired. The hammer re-set after the round was fired, but stayed in the far-down position, captured by the disconnector after the trigger was released. The fix was relatively easy if one is competent in the use of tools; familiar with the dis-assembly and re-assembly of the FCU, and understands the interaction between FCU components and sub-assemblies during the cycles of the gun . Using graduated coarseness diamond files like those from DMT, in measured very small increments, remove material from the disconnector tang, being careful to keep the tang perfectly square. Mark the area for material removal on the disconnector with a Sharpie pen as a guide to insuring that material is removed uniformly across the tang; the material removal essentially shortens the length of the release face of the tang, so the disconnector tang can slip past its mated tang on the hammer when the trigger is released after firing. I advise going from Medium coarseness to Fine, to Super-Fine during each grinding/polishing step. Be very careful to remove only a slight amount of material; put the FCU back together, test, repeat until proper function is achieved.

  8. All my years of shooting the M16/AR has pushed me toward pistol grips. Except my 870, have a MagPul on it. Forgot about the Browning BPS, it’s has the “English stock” on it

  9. I love the adjustable stock on my AR but it just feels wrong on a shotgun. I guess too many years of using an 870 ruined me and anything else feels “off”. I got mine a few days ago and am ready to start cursing as I begin the install this morning.
