  1. wow, cool topic, been a way a while, love those M1014s,awesome shotgun, man, if I couldn't afford a Benelli m4 and this m4 clone is avalaible,I would buy it,even if it works for just a little while because ''something is better than nothing'',I bought a chinese trench gun clone last year cause I could'nt afford a real one.it broke on me 6 months later, very bad ,it was so bad that the 1897 smiths would'nt touch it,another smith said''ditch it''so I sold it and used the money and then some to buy another gun,so it worked out pretty good,it didn't seem like it at the time, the gun I bought was just meant for me, ,heck of a journey to end up purchasing my favorite type of shotgun, a Benelli, I wish all of you a good day and happy shooting.

  2. Press and hold the bolt release latch in, tilt the trigger guard down, and slid it out the back. Once you get it out remove the bolt before trying to reinstall the trigger guard. Make sure you depress the bolt release and hold it when reinstalling the trigger. Also, make sure the hammer is cocked before replacing the bolt.

  3. I'll be curious to see how you like the combo of a red dot sight and the orange dot on your XS front post. The first time I shot an orange clay launched off a steel popper I was distracted for a nanosecond between the red dot and orange clay. There were 3 such targets back-to-back during a local 3-Gun and I missed all 3 clays. I found it distracting in the fast target acq. required for finding the clay and nailing it. Needless to say, I as pretty disappointed in myself!! I can't believe I just admitted that to the group -- It must be Sunday and I just went to confessional! Agree with SD. I have installed and experimented with several different sight combinations on my gen 1 Glock 17. I had XS for a while and liked them fine enough, but eventually found them to be too fat as SD stated. Same with Speed Sights. eventually ended up with Dawson Precision using a black rear square notch and a red fiber optic post. The notch and post are paired to give me enough vision on both sides of the post for target alignment given older eyes and reading glasses condition.

  5. Sounds like your standard Mossy.

  6. Nothing wrong with my Mossy now...except it's still a Mossy. I have no plans to be shooting a lot of ammo through it, it's a specialty piece, don't want to wear out the POS. ALL pumps have a limited lifetime before they become loosey-goosey and stuff starts to break. Benelli seems to be the only shotgun to hold up well to thousands upon thousands of rounds. And yep, I think this includes the Turknelli M4. We'll see. That's why I would like to see as many of the Turknelli M4s out there as possible so we're able to see how well they hold up. I'm thinking the big savings on purchasing the Turknelli can go to buying ammo. Patents expire all the time, it's called the free market.

  8. There's quite a distinction between "It's a POS!" and "I prefer the original." lol FWIW, when I call a Mossy a POS I actually own one, a Shockwave. The major problem* it used to have has been resolved. All Mossy pumps suffer the same problem as do the Rock Island pumps I have - don't drop them they are easily disabled by dropping them from a drop as little as one foot. *Shell lifter falls out of position when dropped, therefore I regard Mossys which have not been remedied to be POS and NOT reliable for social work.

  9. MJ - I did a search for REIN and see you've been chatting this up for a while. If you purchased the pic rail piece with the IWC, then I'd think installation would be easy on either side of the IWC mount. Remember, the screw holes in the pic rail from IWC are not along the centerline of the rail, so it can be installed "upside down" if you will, to slightly raise or lower the rail and thus your light. If you purchased the remote light switch as well, the only thing I can think of is to get another pic rail from IWC and mount it on the opposite side of the light for the remote switch. This will force your support hand all the way forward on the foregrips in order to get a thumb on the switch buttons. I take that back, the IWC pic rail is not much more than an inch long with only 2 rail slots, I don't think that will be substantial enough to mount the CD switch which is pretty beefy and 2 3/4" long. Maybe an aftermarket pic rail would work, dunno. If you don't get any solid ideas here, I'd give IWC a call and tell them what you are trying to do. They can be helpful! I do like the idea of both a remote switch and tail cap switch as they support light activation while shooting from either shoulder. Other options is to get rid of the OEM grips and get a Briley or HAYL Rail or Agency Arms system. All those are M-Lock and CD is Pic rail, so you'll still have challenges but easily overcome. I look forward to your adventure!

  12. On my CCW and duty Glock 19 gen 4, I ended up buying a set of the Trijicon HD’s, but found the front sight height to be wrong. I have a Ransom Rest which confirmed this. The groups were about 3-4” high at 15 yards. I was always grouping low with the traditional top of the front sight blade hold. At closer ranges I transition to the cover the X with the tritium dot hot to account for parallax. To make this sight height work, you’d have to align the rear sight tritium with the top edge of the front sight which was really awkward. The Trijicon set comes with a front sight that is .215” high. So I bought a .245” high front. This has helped me significantly. 50 round Arizona quals from last year:

  13. Those XS sights are designed to be used so you put the tritium dot completely over the X of your target rather than the top edge of the front sight post. I have a set for a Glock 36 when they were named Ashley big dots. That might be why they’re a little taller. They were great for easy pick up and speed, but terrible for accuracy beyond minute of man. The front sight blade was also much wider than the oem ones so you obstruct a lot of the target. The big dots were designed more for room distances to contact shots. Push a B27 out to 15 yards and that dot obstructs the 8 ring in. For me, the perceived speed in target alignment wasn’t worth the accuracy penalty. If I shot the G36 more, I’d probably install a different set of sights. That’s just my personal preference though. I’d be happy to hear your results on the M4 though.

  16. no problems at all. Just remember, shotguns are like horseshoes and hand-grenades, you just have to be close to score.

  17. i had a gen 1 590A1 and a 500A back in very early 2000s. The 590 fore-end was so loose that it caused binding on the slide bars when working the action. It had an incredible amount of 'play' in it when it was locked up. i decided i couldnt trust it and sold off both Mossbergs and havent owned another since.

  18. i guarantee you it would'nt have went like this is we were face to face. the whole thing is your wannabe superior attitude and arrogance. i THINK it was post #14 for you and you were trying to chastise people like you're someone special. you're not. You come here telling other people what to do, proclaiming other brands a POS, of which you have ZERO experience. its ok to be a Benelli fan-boi..i prefer them too, but its your attitude towards others that makes you both a snob and an asshole.

  19. Yeah, that's right, a particular shotgun which offended you and and yet you have no experience with it. lol

  20. You and another forum member declared a reasonable facsimile of a Benelli M4* to be a "POS" while NEITHER of you has ANY personal first hand experience with the Turknelli M4. That's snobbery. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/snob *Norinco (the Chinese with their rough workmanship) has made many "reasonable facsimiles" of proven, reliable guns which are also as reliable as the originals and also in strong demand in the secondary market (the Norinco clones are sought after not shunned), why can't the Turks??

  21. Not "many" apparently just a small percentage...lol And "based on nothing"??? Whiskey Tango Hotel?? There's no shortage between the two of you presenting an opinion on something you have ZERO personal first hand experience with.
