  1. i would like to invite all of you to come join a turkey hunting forum. it is one of the best forums i have seen. come sign up!!!! www.theroost.proboards21.com
  2. Just got my nova last week. 24 in 12 gauge in camo. Patterned it with the factory full choke (cant afford aftermarket x-full yet) I used some custom made shells. Size 4,5,and 6 shot. I shot it from 35 yards and got 24 in the kill zone. That 3.5" mag sure does kick a lot when just patterning. I shot some winchester size 4 3" shells also. 17 in the head. I would have to say that is pretty good for the factory choke. Does anyone hunt with their factory choke for turkey?? NN
  3. absolutely no need for a 10 gauge...
  4. a ported barrel is not THAT much louder than a non ported one. i wouldnt worry about it being too loud in the duck blind. we go with 3 or 4 people and the shots of 4 of our guns going off is surely more than a ported gun. i wouldnt worry about it being too loud for ducks. they are going to hear guns either way, whether or not it is from a ported gun i dont think it makes a difference.
  5. I have never shot either gun, but i can tell you that the supersport will kick less. it has the comfortech stock which is designed to take the recoil out of 3.5" mags from a 12 gauge. imagine the diff. it will make with target shells.
  6. I had the same problem last year. I believe it was because most of the toms i were hunting were henned up. Try using a crow call or owl call to get them to gobble. usually it just takes them something to get going. woodpecker calls work well too, i have a friend that uses them. From experience, the weather also has a large affect on the toms gobbling. But hey, thats hunting. Good luck. Let us know what hapens. NN

  11. ok, heres the deal. I am 17 years old and looking to buy a shotgun. I have looked at every 12 ga. there is to look at and I have no clue what to buy. Would it be worth it for me to hold out until september and buy a SBE?? Lets remember Im 17 and only makin $600 a month. I have to pay for gas, car insurance, all that goods stufff. What do you all think I should do?? Let me know fella's. Thanks. NN

    SBE

just my opinion but i dont think you should be as concerned with what other items come in the case, if there is one for that matter. what you pay for and want is the gun... i wouldnt think you would get anything too elaborate with the gun. did you hear you got other things w/ the gun?? NN
  13. ooohh u already said it wont shoot 2 3/4 didnt see that. NN
  14. yeller, how is the recoil on the 935 w/ 3.5"? Im not too worried about it,but i dont want a gun thats gonna leave me hurtin' after a day of goose hunting. now can you shoot 2 3/4" or not? i have heard u can and can't...Thanks for your help -NN
  15. I have been reasoning between A LOT of guns in the past month or so. I started out looking at Rem. 1100's then to mossberg 935, SBE, Monte,M1, etc etc etc. Everyone tells me the SBE is simply the best gun out there for what I will be using it for. Duck Geese Turkey Phesant. I have come to realize I dont NEED 3.5" mags. They would be nice but dont need them. I would like to know what you all think of the m1 compared to the mossberg model 935. I can get the M1 for $950 in camo and the 935 for $550 in camo. Please Please let me know what you think.
  16. i agree with fismax2. when hunting i never notice recoil, not the littlest bit. when patterning maybe you will notice it, but that is just a few shots. i would say save the money and dont worry about it. when you have that adrenaline runnin recoil will not even be a factor. Nick
  17. I have also handled a sbe w/ the pistol grip. Felt great. just my guess but i dont think it can make the gun worse. it is just there for comfort reasons the gun itself is the same.
  18. I went to the nearest benelli dealer to me yesterday and I was told the sbe2 will not come out until december. Has anyone else been told this? If not when is it supposed to come out???? Nick
  19. go w/ the 28, if it feels better dont hesitate
  20. sounds like a lot of fun. how old is your son?
  21. nice deer. how much it weigh? and what kind of gun is that?
  22. If I were you I would go with the nova. Benelli is extremely reliable. you cant really go wrong w/ either one so it is pretty much a matter of which one fits you best. I have never actually shot a nova, handled one though, and it just felt better than my mossberg. Hope it helps -Nick
  23. I have an old Ithaca Model 200E that I use for waterfowl, my grandfather gave to me. It is in amazing conditon. No rust, dents, scratches, etc. It is a side by side with a single trigger, has improved and modified chokes. Just out of curiosity, does anyone have any clue what this gun is worth? It is about 40 years old?? Just a guess... Thanks in advance for your input. -Nick
  24. Im gonna be waiting for the SBE II, doesnt come out until december though. it will be about $1300. for now im going to buy a mossberg 935. im sure that can hold me over until dec.
