  1. Do a search for Mann and Sons. If there still in business they probably will have one, or be able to get you one. I THINK they mostly deal w/ just Benelli firearms and products. There mail order and will ship c.o.d. if you want. [ 04-05-2006, 02:44 AM: Message edited by: FN_FAL ]
  2. I've got a Seal Pup w/ the Kydex holster that is jump rated. You can mount it in any position you want. The knife itself is super durable. I've used it to pry heavy items and no sweat. The edge retains well too. I have a SOG Trident (folder) and it is RAZOR sharp. SOG is a vendor I do business with and they turn out great products for good prices. I have a Microtech Scarab thats double edged, and the Trident is considerably sharper. Microtechs ain't cheap either.

    M3 Entry?

    I'm 99% they did NOT.
  4. nice pics jakjakman. I especially like your Microtech DE. I just got an MT Ultratech DE yesterday. Man is it fast in and out. Have fun w/ your toys.

    Benelli bi pod

You Maniac. I was cruising through the threads and came across this pic. Besides the cool bi-pod mod you've got a flash supressor/muzzle break that kind of looks like the one on my new M1A1 carbine Socom II. It helps the SOCOM which just has a 16.25" barrel kicking out .308. However my muzzle break doesn't have holes all the way around! Must really light it up! Nothing like gun mods.
  6. Make sure he doesn't go shorter then 18". Say he has a home intruder and has to do a rightous shooting to protect life (and all the other ridiculous criteria one has to adhere to before they can shoot a home invasion criminal, all states differ but mine is ridiculous and I think NJ is pretty bad as well) Its almost like they want to protect the criminals. Anyways back to my point if he ever does use the firearm to protect the home, the cops show up and he's just used a short barreled shotgun (which is illegal by itself w/o papers) hes going to jail. Of course these are all worse case scenarios but w/ the world the way it is.... I like to follow Murphy's Laws, cause Murphy likes to follow me! Theres a relatively new, inexpensive 870 just for home defense. Its called the 870P max, (its called a police model but civilians can own the ones w/18" barrels same day) Maybe get him a b-day present, this 870 is a sweet setup w/ all kinds of features for a good price. Just don't go under 18"s!!!
  7. Technically I believe you are right wallhanger54. My partner at the shop is also a lawyer, he knows all the tech. info. to the letter. I just know that when dealing w/ the ATF they are VERY particular about EVERY SINGLE LITTLE ITEM. Absolutely NO gray areas w/ them. Enough to drive one mad. I personally wouldn't chance owning one (w/out the paperwork.) Lets be honest what would you use it for, a big paper weight? I do think you can be in posession of just a 14" barrel. However lets say you own a cammo shotgun w/ a 26" barrel on it, clearly not a tactical shotgun by any means. Now I don't think you can be in posession of the 14" barrel. (given they're the same gauge) I'm 50/50 on this. Common sense tells you (or the ATF) you can swap barrels in minutes and have an illegal NFA weapon. Even if you were able to have both items at the same address I personally wouldn't be comfortable w/ it. This coming from a guy with several LEGAL class III firearms I own. I'm probably just jaded by years of dealing w/ the ATF, just one full audit by them is a nightmare and I've been through 3. (as a business owner, not just my collection)
  8. Yeah I run a Class III range and its without question 18" for shotguns.(non-regulated) As Remy pointed out rifles are 16" before entering into NFA area. I used to always confuse the two and a-lot of people do. Even some vendors I've dealt with. jj I'll come out and say it, dealing w/ the BATF&E is like pulling teeth for some people. It all depends. I'm not talking about the brave men and women that are shutting down meth labs, busting gun runners, etc. but the paper pushers who like to hand out red tape, and sit on there arse all day. BIG difference.
  9. I've shot every type of brand you can think of, just about, out of a M1 Super 90 tactical and had no real issues. I will say 95% of the shells have either been 00 buckshot or 1 1/4 oz. slugs. Its patterned for Federal Premium 2 3/4" double ought buck. This is my favorite brand to shoot, plus I've got a rifle sized gun safe stacked w/ the stuff.
  10. Welcome to the board. 41 bucks is a great price. I don't understand why the 14" MUST have s muzzle brake?? Private citezens can own a 14" barrel (as we know) but you have to fill out form 1 and wait for the BATF&E to approve, pay tax stamp, etc. What is the purpose of the muzzle brake? Is it 4 inchs long? I guess maybe that could meet the minimun 18" requirement? I doubt this however. Then you wouldn't have to go through the BATF&E. I'n not sure. I know I've seen citezens w/ 14" LEGAL barrels without a muzzle break. It may help w/ recoil, probably not much though. Once again welcome and stafe safe while out w/ that 14"er.
  11. An inexpensive alternative to snap caps is to pick up your spent shells after they've been fired. Same thing just not as pretty. Obviously make SURE the primer is dead. (per tucker its always a good idea to store firearms w/ a relaxed spring, potentially adding to the springs longevity.)
  12. I didn't even notice you wre from the Big Easy. Sorry for any loss/ and or damage you and yours may of encountered. Well that H20 was the perfect pic w/ all that H20! (no pun) Nothing like some 000 buckshot to to "control chaos". Man you really wanted that nickel ext.! I'm glad you were able to get it. On a diff. note don't even get me going on the press in this country. I'm all for free speech. But such irresponsabillity these days its insane. The press can greatly harm our nation if careless. No thought of the consequences. Whatever sells, or gets people watching. Low life scumbags. (not all but it doesn't take many bad apples on the account of how fast info. travels these days.) Diff. topic for diff. forum, I'll shut er up.
  13. Welcome to the board . I've got an H20 and its a nice piece. You've got to get the nickel ext. to really make the gun complete. There tricky to find. I've just gotten a digital camera and have to figure out how to upload pics. I'll upload a pic of the H20 w/ ext. I've got some sweet machineguns in addition to my Benelli's, and others I'd like to show the public.
  14. Why Benelli can't sell the +2 makes 0 sense to me. I think the ATF is picking on them. They can't use the reason "its an imported semiauto...." I know of an imported tactical shotgun (from Belgium) that comes w/ an extended magazine standard. It's actually a shotgun quite similar to the M4, (gas operated, pic. rail, etc.) its just not made by Benelli. Last time I went into detail about said shotgun (make, model) my post disappeared. Can't blame Benelli for not wanting people to talk about the competion. In this instance the BATFE isn't showing the same treatment to Benelli as it is to the competion. Seems unfair to say the least.
  15. If your going to get a gun SOLEY for home protection I personally prefer a pump. Don't get me wrong the M4 is a fine weapon. Doubtful it will let you down. You seem to know your laws, they vary from state to state obviously. I thought it was illegal NOT to own a gun in Texas. Nah but guns are welcomed in your state by more then less fortunately. I'm just a Murphy's Law guy. "If something can go wrong it will, etc. etc." I've got several tactical shotguns (some semi auto, others pump) (I Run a gun shop/range you'd be suprised how cheap some people sell there firearms, as a result my collection has benefitted) Out of the 5 shotguns I own the longest barrel I own is an 18.25"er! The shotgun I keep at the ready for home defense is a Wilson Scattergun. I've never seen or had a pump shotgun not cycle a round. I have seen a semi-auto shotgun not cycle a round. It wasn't an M4 however. (Or a Benelli for that matter)
  16. Those Mk. 23's are monsters but have the threaded barrel at the ready. Like you said MONGO the weapons used by these guys vary widely. I've heard of them using a .22s Specifically the Ruger Amphibian, which I believe was made for the SEAL teams originally. It comes in stainless or non-reflective black. Integral suppresor so mums the word. A .22 can turn your light permanantly red if used properly. (ie: by a SEAL) Lot of people aren't aware of how dangerous the .22 can be. Just a slight margin for "hit" spots.

    Crow Hammer

I think they "croweked". All be here all week.
  18. Congratulations, NICE PIECE. I'm a big fan of revolvers, make that machinesguns, shotguns, howitzers,etc.etc. in addition. You, my friend have some brass ones, or are a sadist. I've got the model 629 in .44 mag. The "Moutain" model. Sometimes called "The Trail Boss" Its got a slick satin stainless finish. My barrel is a much more sensible 4". Yeah right! Its got a loud bark and a meaner kick. Wait till you shoot that 3"!!! You gotta post the results. Don't hit that forehead! Side note I've got a S&W 500. Its got the 10 1/2" barrel which has a compensator. (I got it to show up my buddy and his .50 AE Magnum Reaserach) In all seriousness I got mine right when it came out and got a basement price. I've only shot it twice. It is literally a flame thrower. I'll tell you this the .500 has FAR LESS kick then my 629. And I ran COR-BON's through the 500, which are notoriously hot loads. I shoot the 629 frequently (did a nice trigger job on it) and I get good groups rather consistantly. It took awhile but I've tamed the beast. Still my favorite revolver is the model 686 in .357 mag w/ 7 shot. I've got 2 I like 'em so much. (that and a great price) ( nice trigger jobs on both) As you can tell I'm a fan of S&W revolvers. There the best IMO, you shouldn't have any problems.( I won't vouch for S&W semi autos however.) Happy shooting, and knock 'em dead.
  19. Heres a link to a picture.http://www.legendportraits.com/Images/Guns/FN_SLP.jpg The gun is based on the Winchester X2 (it has a super fast cyclic rate) which in turn is influenced by the Browning. FN owns both so thats no real shock. I've seen these guns around $700 and up to $1100. I've had one and its treated me very well. Here are the specs. • Winchester Super X2 3" magnum action • 13.5" LOP polymer stock • 18" barrel • Piccatiny rail with ghost-ring sights • black parkerized phosphate finish • 7-shot capacity • compact overall length 38 7/8" • Invector choke equipped (2 chokes supplied) • soft recoil gas-operation • 2 gas pistons supplied to tune the action to the desired load (one for less than 1 1/4" oz loads, one for 1 1/4+ loads) Its my favorite semi-auto tactical. The M3T doesn't count cause its a "convertible" otherwise that would be my (is) my favorite tactical shotgun.
  20. Nice setup, as usual M1014. I think the problem with obtaining the M4's can be attributed, in part, to our current military missions over seas. I believe Benelli supplies part of our military w/ M4's. Since theres a war going on there is probably a higher demand than usual for the M4's. Benelli's got to supply the military first, then the civilian market IMO. We're a Class III dealer and can get our hands on just about anything, but the M4's have been on backorder for a very long time. Once they come in there's quite a list to fulfill. Many people have bought other brands becuase there sick of waiting. The FN auto loading police model is a sweet shotgun at a nice price, that we sell whenever we get them. The barell is just barely 18 inch's (maybe a little under, sshhhh don't tell the BATFE) If your looking for a semi auto the FN is by far the best buy for the money IMO. Comes standard w/ 1913 rail, ghost rings w/tritum inserts, and an extended mag, and a couple chokes. I've got one and its sweet.

    Grizzly man

garren is right the guy had to of had nerves of steel. However I think Timothy Treadwell (that was his name) had a severe chemical inbalance. I tivo'd the special and have watched it a couple times. Its quite evident from his behavior in ceartin takes, one second he's on top of the world the next he's a raving lunatic. To me he clearly suffered from bi-polar disorder. When I first heard about this guy and what he'd been doing for 13 years I was fascinated. It made me think of the lady Dr. Jane Goodall (think thats her name) that lived with the silver back gorillas in the bush for years on end, she gained so much of the ape's trust they let her groom them. She was up close and personal and no harm ever came to her that I'm aware of. However after seeing the Grizzly special I quickly realized this guy was nothing like Jane Godall and her study of apes. I spoke with another member of this forum via pm because hes a resident of Alaska and I was curious what he thought. Part of what he said was that the whole thing turned into a tragedy. He got that girl (and himself) killed, and all for not. He actually did more harm than good to the animal he was willing to give his life for. A real tragedy on so many levels. Absolutely no good came from this guys study.

    Nova Forend

Yeah you can't really contend the reliability and staying power of the 870. I've got a couple, in my collection. One is a Wilson Scattergun with all the tricks. The other is almost older then me and was once a police officers. Little Hoppes # 9 some Miltec and its still good to go. I have a Nova H20 and at first I didn't like the "rattle" it gives the impression something is wrong, maybe a loose part. It can definitely give one an unsettling feeling when handling for the first time. I've handled over a dozen Novas and they all rattle. But they all also shoot well without fail. However I've watched people not purchase a Nova because of the forenend moving just that little bit. One guy said to me "if its rattling new, in the store, whats it going to do after I've run a few hundred rounds through it?" "Well" I said "still rattle a little, thats the way its designed." No sale. Like I said I have a nova H20 and I've ran it a bunch of laps and it still looks NIB once I clean it and its given me no problems.
  23. skidaho you took the words outta my mouth.
  24. Everytime I've seen someone shoot the shorts in semi-autos they failed to cycle the action far to often. Especially the little Beretta's. I'm not busting anyone's chops just sharing info. I'd go with tuckers advice on the Savage models. Several reasons, he's already pointed out 2, a third is you won't have a problem with a failure to cycle. If I was going to shoot .22 shorts I'd use a bolt action or a revolver. I bought my nephew a nice S&W revolver that shoots 22lr and the shorts. It has a 10 round capacity so you have plenty of shots. Its model 617 I believe, and comes in a 4 or 6 inch barrel. They're not cheap but S&W makes the best revolvers IMO. Esp the model 686, one of my favorite most reliable stand by's. As far as there semi auto handguns thats a diff. story. Buyer Beware!
  25. Well I guess I won't play devil's advocate about the fastest cycling semi-auto since this thread has stayed civil thus far. I remember a thread awhile back arguing about the "fastetst semi auto shotgun" We beat that one to death. The one thing nobody can argue is that the above shooters are out of control. Holy Smokes
