www.brownells.com does have the Gel Pad in the 14" LOP. It is advertised as the gel pad for the nova but it is the same that will fit on a supper sport and your SBE II. I know this because I purchased it already for my SBE II

Well I know a person who has a sbe and later purchased the SBE II with the comfort tec sys. He can tell the difference and thinks the comfort tec system is worth the money.

Ok if your Nova is new, the brown stuff is what is added to weapons that will sit on a shelf waiting to be bought. Dont worry about it but I suggest a product called M-PRO7. This cleaner comes in a spray and it is Bio Friendly and wont hurt your finish. I also use the M-PRO7 CLP, Clean Lub & protect. The cleaners wont smell up your home and you dont have to worry about getn it on your outside finish which most harsh cleaners can hurt.

Didnt know Beretta made their own gel pad.

I have looked for those loads but I can only find the 3.5 at 1550 FPS

Of Course I will be using a Benelli Nova and a SBE II

Ok guys what duck loads have you patterened and appear to work well. I am looking at the 3 inch shells #4 and I have picked up: Kent Fast Steel 12 G 3" 1 1/8 #4 1560 FPS Federal Premium Ultra Shok 12G 3" 1 1/8 #4 1550 FPS I will do a test pattern using Carlson's extend steel choke tubes in Cyl and IC.. Give me your thoughts.

Take a look at Carlson's chokes, they do have extended crio chokes for the M2 and SBE II. I had ordered the extended steel choke tubes for the Benelli/Beretta and they are great. I then ordered the Crio chokes for my SBE II and they only have them in chrome but they are going to make them in the black finish for my duck hunting so they will not give a glare. www.choketube.com

OK THE sbe II IS WORTH THE MONEY. I JUST PURCHASED ONE AND WENT TO THE TRAP RANGE TO BREAK IN THE WEAPON. I SHOT THREE BOXES OF AMMO AND THE WEAPON WAS SMOOTH AND WORK VERY WELL. ITS A GREAT WEAPON AND MY BERETTA 390 IS GOING BACK IN THE CLOSET UNTIL I CAN SELL IT.

Can You use a non crio choke in a crio barrel?? I have a SBE II and a Briley extend choke for ducks. The choke is not Crio.

The Nova is a great pump gun and works very well. I added a recoil reducer and a 14 lop gel pad for those 3 1/2 loads. The look and construction of the weapon works well in wet weather. The Nova is very easy to take all the way apart for a good cleaning. I looked at my REM. 870 next to my Nova and I got rid of the Rem.

Can I use non crio extended chokes in my SBE II. I have a Briley extended choke for ducks but its not crio.

I just purchased a SBE II and it came with the 14 3/8 LOP Gel Pad but I need the 14 LOP so I ordered it from Brownells. That SBE II is nice and smooth. My Beretta 390 is much heavier and difficult to take all athe way down to clean all those parts but the Benelli is so simple and worth the money.

Min loads, yes there can be a problem but it is recommended to shoot 4-5 boxes because the new weapon/parts are machined and need to be worn in. As for the ammunition you should always buy the better and not the cheapest. I rather spend 5 bucks a box then $3.50 and use alot of rounds to get ur limit. No more of the cheap stuff there pattering shows the price.

I use IC but when those doves decide not to come in close enough I switch to the M choke.

Try the EasyHIt fiber optic sight from Tom Knapp's website in the online store. www.tomknapp.net. I purchased one and placed it on my Nova. I left the original sight on and placed the new one up againts it. The sight goes on as an adhesive. Yes!! it does and I thought that was crazy but Knapp Gurantees the sight or will refund your money including the shipn. I like the sight it does not move and stays on tight. the sight in more inline with the original and does not go on higher as many other fiber sights do. I had a Hiviz sight magnetic and my sight picture was off and I wounded alot of ducks. I changed that sight with Tom Knapps and wow what a difference. The Sight also helps with eye dominice problems and makes you mount your weapon porperly. I have purchased three for my Nova, superblack eagle and an over and under.

IM GOING TO BUY THE SBEII BUT WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR TO AVOID THE ONES WITH PROBLEMS IN THAT YEAR TIME WITH THE BAD QUALITY CONTROL ISSE.

Man your a lucky guy. I live in the desert and its difficult when trying to locate ducks. One year there is water and some good hunts and the next year it changes completely. Hunting areas are hard to come by with private land owners blocking access to the public rivers and people leasing the areas that landowners allowed us to hunt.

Well I dont know but I will be checking out the patterns pretty soon before duck season. Ill let you know and I will also be checking out how the Federal holds up.. I will also be geting 45 rounds of Bismuth reloaded for me by a friend who shoots competiton.

Well the good thing about the Gel pad is it just goes on with no problem. Some pads need to be sanded or they advertise to have a gunsmith put it on. I just want a smaller LOP and put it right on without tools, gunsmithing or anything else and the Gel Pad is that.

One of our Benelli forum members knew I was trying to find one and he emailed me. The member had a new gel pad that he was not going to use and sold it to me.
