  1. Like the others here who live in CA, I'm probably much more familiar with limitations on second amendment rights than the majority of forum members.

I know it's probably not a popular opinion on a gun forum, but I'm all for adding hurdles and restrictions on ownership if it meant that a sane, rational, well-intentioned person would have their full 2nd amendment rights as recognized by most of the non-restrictive states. I'd gladly take a routine psych exam, in-person safety training and tests, deeper background check, etc., if it meant that I could have an AR without a bullet button, no 10-round mag limits, and the right to carry. It'd even be nice if I could add a collapsible stock on my Benelli, or--god forbid--even buy one with

Last night I read a post from someone on CNN who thought the age of ownership should be raised to late 20s, because most psychotic and schizophrenic conditions manifest by then. Of course, by media accounts the CT shooter took his dead mother's guns and used them at the school, so even if she passed such tests, this still would have happened. Again, putting restrictions on people who follow the law does not deter the criminals. Maybe people's ownership rights should be affected if those in their households are diagnosed with mental conditions? I see a million flaws with that, too.

Ultimately I've never heard an argument from the NRA zealots or anti-gun zealots that would address the situation adequately. Confiscation wouldn't work, neither would unbridled availability. I would hope we all recognize the situation now is flawed.

Unfortunately, the status quo sucks for those families in CT. I can't even imagine.

  2. This is a site to discuss shotguns. Certainly not defending anyone/anything or criticizing the opinions of my fellow posters, just saying that debating political systems or the people involved is best done elsewhere. I'm trying to escape from over a year of intense BS political ads here in VA. You're all free to be pissed, but please to it elsewhere. Argue politics on political forums. You have lots of places to play, spare us here.

One hundred percent agree. Not 99%, not 1%--100%.

  3. Next time you have some vacation, come out to Arizona and enjoy some true freedom. Yes, we even allow comrades from California and Illinois carry firearms open or concealed carry without any Nazi papers or permits. It's so dangerous to be a criminal here that most crimes are relegated to burglary type crimes. Robbery is pretty rare for the obvious reasons.

Vote with your dollars and abandon the sinking ship. Afterall, Arizona isn't all deserts.

Arizona carry of a Benelli M4. Loaded of course.

I've trained at Gunsite before, met the Colonel (obviously before he died) and he gave us a tour of his house. I took full advantage of open carry around town!

  4. Are the rules different for pump guns than semi's, or did they change? When I was stationed in CA from 07-09, I bought a brand new FN TPS with a C-Stock and Pistol Grip at some gun store called Traders or something. I highly doubt that a store of that size would have been selling illegal firearms NIB.

One place to look for answers:

  5. I had the Mod 2. It was beautifully made, as it should be for that amount of money. I agree with the Hookster, though--it was just too much weight/mass for rail space I really didn't need. I'm much happier with the BLAM light mount and Esstac shotgun cards.
