Your velocities will be the same with a longer barrel because the maximum velocity is reached at 22 inches. And personally I'm going to stick with my 1 1/8 #3 shot Winchester HV's if these new shells are only pushing 1500 fps..
1700+ fps is fast in my book.. anything below that is just average.
I'll have to disagree with your theory of the 22in bbl. It holds no water. A search through the archives will tell you as much. as far as "pushing 1,500 fps", that is a glass half empty view. High 1,500's as stated, is pushing 1,600 fps, and close to the advertised speeds, which were done with 30in bbl's. It is a free country, and I won't knock your choice in shell.Whatever works for you. I am simply giving an opportunity for people to see a new load that contains new technology, that you may or may not have seen yet.

With a 24in bbl I was able to get high 1,500's out of two of the three shots i was limited to, and cracked 1,600 once. I am looking forward to getting back out with a longer barrel, and more shells,

Hey Gang, it's been a while, but I wanted to share some info on
a new load that will be out in stores starting in July called SPEED BALL by Hevi-Shot so everyone can check it out, and know a little about it when the time comes to gear up for the season ahead
Here is a cut-away of the shell. It has three major innovations:
1. Speed Ball? ? an elastomeric ball in the base of the wad that accelerates pellets without boosting chamber pressures (patent pending).
2. MV? pellet that sits in the base of the shell ? copper-clad, steel-core pellets that are Heavier Than Steel? but with a soft, dense outer copper layer fuzed to the steel, metallurgically. This gives us about 22 times the copper thickness of copper-plated lead or steel; you just can't get this kind of copper thickness without the proprietary technology we're using. The copper raises the density of the pellet. Patent pending. Copper plating puts a copper coating on the pellet that is roughly 1/6 of the thickness of a sheet of paper.
3. HEVI-Shot layer on top. 6 existing patents.
So we use the layer technology of HEVI-Metal, the density of Heavier Than Lead? and Heavier Than Steel?, and the new Speed Ball? technology to get really fast speeds safely.
The benefits to the hunter:
Higher pellet counts in the 30-inch circle than you get with HEVI-Shot.
Nearly matches the lethal energy of HEVI-Shot, pellet size for pellet size, out to 60 yards (but far exceeds the energy of anything else).
Cheaper than HEVI-Shot, more than $1/shell cheaper.

Hey guys im new to the TSS, , and im looking to get into reloading some of the tss shot.. Im wondering if anyone has any suggesttions on a recipe for my gun.."(benellie SBE 1) with a rhino .673 choke...im also wondering where i can buy the shot. ? im looking to try the 8 and 9 shot but the tungstensupershot web site does not carry #9? any help would be very appreciated.

If the choke says "No Steel" on the side, then no. You would want a tube that is rated for Steel shot and other HTL loads.

The recoil reducer is a personal choice. If you are shooting at a turkey, you won't feel it at all. You will however, feel it while toting that thing around all day.
While patterning, you can put an oven mitt between you and the gun to keep it comfortable in the meantime. Save your money for a decent choke tube or some calls. IMO

That M/O Bottomland Supermag is radical,son!
I actually have yet to take a Benelli out this season. I picked up an 870 S/M with a Sure-Shot stock, and love that thing. It patterns insane, and just is a joy to carry.
I'm waiting on a new Limbsaver Dead Center sight combo to arrive this week to put on my M2, and I will give it a go.

My Supernova has been posting up some pretty darn good numbers with 3.5in Remington Wingmaster HD #6's ans a TruGLO SSX choke, as well as a Jellyhead .655 tube

Adjustable sights would be the easiest way to go if the other choke doesn't help. A simple set of fiber optics from TruGLO, William's, or Limbsaver would get the gun pointed in the right direction. A red dot would also do the trick.
Extreme:
You can send your gun off to Rhino Chokes in Williston Fl. and they can beat it into submission. The second extreme option is to try an Eccentric choke job by Briley..

My gun loves a Primos Tightwad choke and Hevi-13 3in #6's. An H.S. Undertaker is also a pretty stout performer in this gun. Check them out.

Im more confused now than I was before i posted.
The last sentence of your original post is where the following answers will get hazy. On forums, when you throw thw word "Best" into the mix, it usually turns into info and opinion overload.
Carlson's makes an excellent tube, as does H.S. Strut, IC, and many others. My advice is to go through the turkey thread archives, and see which tubes come up the most in a positive manner for the M2 and make a choice. Just my .02

Kind of the way a Chips A'hoy cookie has 100 chips in every one, and the generic store brand only has 75.
The tubes being the same wasn't what I was talking about. Resemblance was the key word. There is going to be some slight differences of course. Especially to justify the massive price difference between the two.

My Super Nova sucks! Plain and simple! What choke a shell combos can I expect a outstanding result with?
The combo that shoots best after spending some productive time at a patterning board finding out what YOUR particular gun likes. There are no Silver Bullets..

I acutally got my hevi-shot choke in the mail Saturday, but have not had a chance to see what it brings to the table. I also have some of the new Hevi 13 Magnum in 3 1/2". I am shooting a SBEII. I hope to get a chance to pattern it this week, if not I am definitely going to this weekend. I will post and let everyone know what I find.
Where did you get it from, and how much was it??

I've hunted all my life but just got into Turkey hunting a few years ago. I have an older Primos vest. I was told "this is the one to get" by a hunting buddy and I got it. I like it but would probably like anybody else's also. I think a good vest offers some advantages - a padded back strip to help when sitting against that tree and also a nice drop down seat. My vest has a large back pocket for carrying a decoy or a dead turkey (I'm not putting a bleeding bird back there) and more pockets than I can use.
As far as calls - I think it is hard to beat a good box call for beginners or for experts. A few old timers told me to try a Lynch box call when I first got started and when I called in and killed my first bird it was a great feeling. That was a $20-$30 call. I have since purchased an $80 pot call, (2) other pot calls, $50 in mouth calls, and been fortunate enough to have had a couple of custom made personalized calls given to me. My success hasn't improved
but I sure feel better equiped. I think spending time around the birds and listening is priceless for calling. I was much more lucky than skilled the few times I've called a gobbler in to shooting range. It is great fun and I'm counting the days until our youth hunt on 3/27 for my oldest son. Good Luck. Chris
The Primos vest, especially the older ones are really good vests. Up until recently, I have used one of these myself. The only mods I made were to remove the Primos logos:D

I won't say what my favorite brand of calls is, but my favorite type of call is a Glass Pot style friction call. When I carry a couple of different strikers with me, I can get any sound that I need, and the tones I want.
As far as the vest goes, this year I will be using the New Vest-a-Blind from Quaker Boy. It is a bit unconventional as far as vests go, but I am looking forward to putting it through it's paces. Even if I end up taking the blind part off, the vest itself is top notch.

I used a Remington 870 Supermag. It's a very popular pump action gun that is available in most big retail stores, as well as smaller gun shops. This model has a Hevi-Shot Extreme Range Waterfowl Choke tube in it, but I keep my shots at ducks under 40yds, usually.
