  1. We keep the magazines of our shotguns in our patrol cars loaded all year long. We replace the ammo annual at inservice training, when we re-qualify with them again, and shoot up all the old ammo. I've seen this for the last five years with the same shotguns, with no failures yet. We do not store ammo in the Speedfeed stocks though, as it pops the recoil pad off.

    Ruger SR-556

"Relatively new design" that "system" has been around for years. The piston has been used in many designs, three that come to mind immediately, SKS, AK-47, FN-FAL. Some of the most dependable, and widely used arms in the world. On the AR-15/M-16 system, in training (Law Enforecement & Military) we have trained many officers daily, with thousands of rounds fired (in a single day)without cleaning, without a single failure. For home defense use, and practice you should never see enough firing to get it "dirty" enough to cause a failure. IF you use the proper ammo.
  3. 100 to 300 yards is really stretching it. 100 yards is max for average Law Enforcement. Most states have done away with the "Fleeing Felon" laws. So if you are shooting at someone fleeing from a crime, UNLESS he is firing at you, or actively endangering an innocent, then you are the one in trouble.
  4. Can't decide? Buy a Benelli M-3!! Now you have both in one.
  5. It's back up now, along with new price list on the Urbino stocks. http://www.mesatactical.com/index.php?id=152
  6. Yes, it is the extended tube. The standard tube stops about 2 inchs forward of the fore end nut.
  7. The twenty ninth edition (year old edition) of the BLUE BOOK OF GUN VALUES shows a value of $1195.00 in 100% condition, without the extended magazine. Gunbroker M-3's are ranging from $450.00 (bid) to $1400.00 (wanted) right now. Value? Whatever someone who really wants it will pay.

    Any Interest?

I realise that this is a benelli site, but I figure that many of you, are as I am, and own many other makes and models of firearms. So, here goes: I have two "take off" barrels that I have no use for. Both are fully rifled barrels with rifle sights, 12 gauge, 3 inch chambers, approximately 21 inches long, matte blued finish. One is from a Remington 870, and the other is from a Remington 11-87. I am asking $125.00 for the 870 barrel, and $150.00 for the 11-87 barrel, shipping will be $15.00 to the lower 48, no international sales. Both are in good shape, I just have no use for them. I can E-Mail pics if needed. Thanks.
  10. I also have one available if interested. It is the black composite. Without the sling plate.
  11. If that one doesn't work out, let me know, I have a standard field stock. I may be willing to part with.
  12. The sling plates are interchangable between your pistol grip stock, and the standard stock. You just use your sling plate.
  13. PM sent. Plus the ten characters so it will post the message.

PM sent. I found the latch that I removed from my M-3. And will send pics by regular E-Mail.

    M3 Questions?

See if you can remove the part, and PM me some pics of it, several views. It sounds like it may have been replaced with the wrong part at some time. I have a spare, left over from when I replaced mine with a different model.
  16. Deal directly with Pati. Griping here on this forum can't help with a company that may not be reading your complaint. I have dealt with them before, both by mail, and in person, and have had no problems. Make your problems known to the one who can do something about it. Hope this helps.
  17. Look at all of the M-3's available on Gunbroker, that Hookster supplied the links to. The information there will answer all of your questions, new price, used price, options available on the guns listed as NIB. The only question that I didn't see answered was about the H&K version. My understanding is that the older models were imported / manufactured by H&K, and the newer ones are Benelli. Either are excellent arms. My Bluebook doesn't differentiate between values of Benelli or H&K models. Hope this helps.
  18. Easy, just drift out the pivot pin of the original, and use a thin punch, or heavy paperclip to align everything as you replace the OEM pivot pin. The "pad" is actually mounted on what appears to be a "modified" OEM Benelli part. (Instructions are included with the new parts).
  19. I bought one (for my M-3) from The Tactical Shotgunner last summer when I went up there on vacation. I couldn't see any difference between the GG&G and this one, except the price. It fits and functions perfectly. For 1/2 the price. Hopes this helps.

    M3 Functions

First of all, Yes, the action is locked in the pump action mode, as is the action in all modern firearms that I know of, (except blowback operation) it keeps a high powered firearm from blowing a cartridge up when it is fired, by containing the "explosion" confined in the chamber. Secondly, the pump action can be used for light loads, and "special purpose" loads (gas, bean bag, other less lethal LE loads) that don't have enough energy to operate the "semi-auto" action. I have an M-3 that I have used for several years, with all kinds of loads, light and heavy, in both pump and semi-auto actions, and it has never failed to function as long as I pay attention to the power of the loads. Generally, Low Brass=Pump / High Brass=Semi-auto, allthough there are some heavier low brass that will function the semi-auto action, the Wal-mart cheapies won't. There are 26" barrels with interchangable chokes available, but they run nearly $600.00 and if your M-3 has ghost ring sights mounted on the receiver, you will have to remove them to use the new barrel, as the GR sights will be in the sight plane of the new barrel. Some here on he Forum say that adding weight will affect the inertia action of the gun in semi-auto, but i have added a Benneli mag extension, a 8 shot side saddle and rail, and a 4 shot side saddle on the butt stock, and it still works fine. The Bennelis are expensive, but if you want one BUY IT!! I love mine, and I trust it to function when it is needed. My opinion is based on owning and using one for several years, some opinions you get here are just that, "opinions" based on "my buddy says" or "I heard of a guy once". It is a good, dependable gun. If you want it Buy it. They're are several on Gunbroker right now. The cheapest is at: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=154326592 Hopes this helps.
