  1. How long can you keep the Benelli M4 w/wolf spring and Full length tube fully loaded before the spring becomes compromised?

I keep it in the patrol car during the week and download it on my friday after duty. Was wondering if I could keep it loaded longer.

    Just curious. Thanks in advance,

We keep the magazines of our shotguns in our patrol cars loaded all year long. We replace the ammo annual at inservice training, when we re-qualify with them again, and shoot up all the old ammo. I've seen this for the last five years with the same shotguns, with no failures yet. We do not store ammo in the Speedfeed stocks though, as it pops the recoil pad off.

  2. Not saying it's hard to clean, but from what I've heard numerous times it doesn't take much for them to get dirty enough to start having reliability issues. This could be from foreign material like dirt, sand or dust and not just a lot of shooting without cleaning. My number one concern for what I'm about to buy is reliability. I really love ARs and I really want one. I also love AKs but I don't think they feel as good or are as user friendly as an AR but of course the reliability is there with an AK. I'm hoping I found the middle ground with the Ruger SR556. The one thing I don't like about it so far is that it's a relatively new design and it doesn't have enough time under it's belt to prove itself as I would like.

"Relatively new design" that "system" has been around for years. The piston has been used in many designs, three that come to mind immediately, SKS, AK-47, FN-FAL. Some of the most dependable, and widely used arms in the world. On the AR-15/M-16 system, in training (Law Enforecement & Military) we have trained many officers daily, with thousands of rounds fired (in a single day)without cleaning, without a single failure. For home defense use, and practice you should never see enough firing to get it "dirty" enough to cause a failure. IF you use the proper ammo.:)

  3. The pump action is less accident prone and a tactical pump has features that allow a shot gun to be used for combat. Now the semi automatics are more powerful but they are not required in most situations, so they have a special team that uses them. Now a police officer has the ability to carry a shot gun and a shot gun has more stopping power than a hand gun. You can shoot open a door and other things as well with a shot gun (at least in the movies). Yeah, a shot gun is great to use as the primary weapon.

An officer could carry a few slugs and use the feature of the Super Nova Tactical that locks the magazine, than throw in a slug in the chamber and have a short distance rifle shot right there (100 - 300 yards), say at someone attempting to run away from a crime otherwise they should use shot. That is what I think anyway.

100 to 300 yards is really stretching it. 100 yards is max for average Law Enforcement. Most states have done away with the "Fleeing Felon" laws. So if you are shooting at someone fleeing from a crime, UNLESS he is firing at you, or actively endangering an innocent, then you are the one in trouble.

  4. Ok so I've been looking for a shotgun and I am very interested in the American Benelli M2 but, I have looked at the Benelli Supernova in the past and im having trouble deciding pump or auto? What are your opinions? And bear in mind I will be using this gun for all types of wing shooting (Dove, Duck, Geese, Pheasant).

    Can't decide?:(

    Buy a Benelli M-3!!

Now you have both in one.:D

  6. a buddy of mine is selling this m3 in unfired/mint condition for its age. but he's not sure what its worth. any help and or any interested in it?? TS HKBenelliM3R.jpgHKBenelliM3boxtop.jpg

The twenty ninth edition (year old edition) of the BLUE BOOK OF GUN VALUES shows a value of $1195.00 in 100% condition, without the extended magazine.

Gunbroker M-3's are ranging from $450.00 (bid) to $1400.00 (wanted) right now. Value? Whatever someone who really wants it will pay.

  7. I realise that this is a benelli site, but I figure that many of you, are as I am, and own many other makes and models of firearms. So, here goes::D

I have two "take off" barrels that I have no use for.

Both are fully rifled barrels with rifle sights, 12 gauge, 3 inch chambers, approximately 21 inches long, matte blued finish.

One is from a Remington 870, and the other is from a Remington 11-87.

I am asking $125.00 for the 870 barrel, and $150.00 for the 11-87 barrel, shipping will be $15.00 to the lower 48, no international sales.

Both are in good shape, I just have no use for them. I can E-Mail pics if needed.

    Thanks.:)

  8. Hi, I'm just wondering if this is still available or is it sold? Is it a black composite stock?

    Thanks

I also have one available if interested. It is the black composite. Without the sling plate.

  9. OK all. I have some new information. I should have looked at my buddy's M3 a little better. After a good inspection, his spring on his mag catch has the same tension as mine. The difference is my catch has a bigger rake to it on the end that holds the shell in the mag. No amount of loading, unloading or shooting will "break it in". My buddy's M3 is an older H&K build. I could not tell what year his is. It looks like I will need a different catch. So I will start looking. Thanks for the help and any suggestions as to look would be cool.

    Novice.

See if you can remove the part, and PM me some pics of it, several views. It sounds like it may have been replaced with the wrong part at some time. I have a spare, left over from when I replaced mine with a different model.

  10. i bought the CCM bolt release pad this past sunday, paid w/ C.C. and this is the email i got today. "we have these on order and hope to have them soon. we will ship as soon as they arrive. your order has been placed in the following status, on backorder. thanks Patti"also shipping was 9.95 for a part the size of a nickel. WTF???:mad: what ever happened to having sh-t in stock or at least putting in the item for sale description, "out of stock"!! not to mention it takes 5 days to tell you they dont have it?????? if i ordered it from another site that has it, i'd have it already!!!!! WTF??????????? I TRUELY HATE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

    Deal directly with Pati.

Griping here on this forum can't help with a company that may not be reading your complaint.

I have dealt with them before, both by mail, and in person, and have had no problems.

Make your problems known to the one who can do something about it.

    Hope this helps.

  11. Thanks.... Yeah, I had seen those... Looking more for answers to my questions though....

Look at all of the M-3's available on Gunbroker, that Hookster supplied the links to. The information there will answer all of your questions, new price, used price, options available on the guns listed as NIB. The only question that I didn't see answered was about the H&K version.

My understanding is that the older models were imported / manufactured by H&K, and the newer ones are Benelli. Either are excellent arms.

My Bluebook doesn't differentiate between values of Benelli or H&K models.

    Hope this helps.

  12. and are they that hard to install??

Easy, just drift out the pivot pin of the original, and use a thin punch, or heavy paperclip to align everything as you replace the OEM pivot pin.

The "pad" is actually mounted on what appears to be a "modified" OEM Benelli part. (Instructions are included with the new parts).

  13. 11988720590401180365977.jpeganyone have any info on these cmm bolt releases from tactical shotgunner?? selling for 59$ 1/2 the price of the other brand. im thinking of getting one ,are they any good?? TS

I bought one (for my M-3) from The Tactical Shotgunner last summer when I went up there on vacation. I couldn't see any difference between the GG&G and this one, except the price. It fits and functions perfectly. For 1/2 the price.

    Hopes this helps.

  14. Hello Gentlemen,

I am new to the forum and very happy to join.

If I may, I would like to ask a few questions of the members about the M3. I am considering a purchase soon but from research on the net I am confused about a few things that possibly someone could clarify for me.

First in pump action mode does the action lock when a round is chambered,I have read some conflicting statements that it may or may not.And second some statements I have read imply that the pump action mode is only for the use of light loads and not intended for full power loads.

    Thanks in advance...Don

First of all, Yes, the action is locked in the pump action mode, as is the action in all modern firearms that I know of, (except blowback operation) it keeps a high powered firearm from blowing a cartridge up when it is fired, by containing the "explosion" confined in the chamber.

Secondly, the pump action can be used for light loads, and "special purpose" loads (gas, bean bag, other less lethal LE loads) that don't have enough energy to operate the "semi-auto" action.

I have an M-3 that I have used for several years, with all kinds of loads, light and heavy, in both pump and semi-auto actions, and it has never failed to function as long as I pay attention to the power of the loads. Generally, Low Brass=Pump / High Brass=Semi-auto, allthough there are some heavier low brass that will function the semi-auto action, the Wal-mart cheapies won't. There are 26" barrels with interchangable chokes available, but they run nearly $600.00 and if your M-3 has ghost ring sights mounted on the receiver, you will have to remove them to use the new barrel, as the GR sights will be in the sight plane of the new barrel. Some here on he Forum say that adding weight will affect the inertia action of the gun in semi-auto, but i have added a Benneli mag extension, a 8 shot side saddle and rail, and a 4 shot side saddle on the butt stock, and it still works fine. The Bennelis are expensive, but if you want one BUY IT!! I love mine, and I trust it to function when it is needed. My opinion is based on owning and using one for several years, some opinions you get here are just that, "opinions" based on "my buddy says" or "I heard of a guy once".

It is a good, dependable gun. If you want it Buy it. They're are several on Gunbroker right now. The cheapest is at: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=154326592

    Hopes this helps.
