Yet again you missed the point. Those veterans that are covered by the VA are fine. However, many veterans do not qualify for VA care and are left at the mercy of the for-profit health care industry. It is those unfortunate veterans that die for lack of health care. To make it simpler for you, about 2,000 of the 45,000 Americans that die each year due to lack of health care are veterans. I hope this clarifies the matter for you.

Dude - we have lost 4,500 plus American soldiers with over 25,000 grievously wounded to terrorists during that period. Why are you dishonoring our brave soldiers by ignoring their sacrifice???

Please post a copy of the health bill that has been passed by both houses of congress (yes, there are two houses in congress) and ready to be signed by the president. Don't forget the tin-foil hat, you will need it.

Actually, we don't live in a democracy. The founding fathers completely understood the tin-foil hat contingent and designed our government as a representative democracy. We elect representatives that make the laws. Their hope was that the representatives would be the educated and enlighten among us. They knew that the common folk really could not be trusted with governance and they were correct.

Yep - a lot of folks are just plain upset that our president has a good tan. I too am disappointed in the current democratic administration, so much so, that I am now an independent. However, this does not justify the outrageous lies that are being spread about President Obama. He is a very intelligent and thoughtful man. Those of you who didn't get Caribou Barbie as vice-president really need to remember that we live in a democracy and the vote went the other way. To offer a a variation on a quote "Love this democracy or leave it". We cannot have a civilized discussion if the "facts" are fabricated. Check the facts before you start your rant. Google works really well for fact checking and it's easy.

Try cleaning the bolt return spring. If you haven't removed it as yet, take it to a gunsmith and have them clean the return spring (and the magazine spring). I clean the springs thoroughly before I shoot a new gun and at least once a year after that (more often if I am shooting clays.) I have owned four Benellis (M1, 20 ga Monte, 20 ga SuperSport, SBEII) and no Benelli clicks. The bolt will get bumped by brush in the field and you need to check it regularly, but I have never missed a bird due to a Benelli problem. Just operator error - like not reloading after shooting one pheasant and another is flushed immediately.

I agree with trapshooter. Replace the pad with a Limbsaver. A much better pad and the company stands behind its product. Limbsaver CS has been excellent. I have Benelli gel pads in all three LOP that I will sell you including the one that came off of my new SBEII (its the 14" LOP pad since Benelli extended the length of the SBEII stock in 2008). Replacing the Benelli pad on my SBEII makes shooting 3.5" steel only slightly scary rather than terrifying. I also replaced the Benelli pad on my 20ga SuperSport with a LimbSaver speed pad and I love it.

The short answer is no. The SuperSport is designed for Sporting Clays. It's ported, has extended quick change chokes, and looks very cool. I have a 12 ga SBEII and a 20 ga SuperSport II. I like both guns very much, but they have different uses. The SBEII is my duck gun and, eventually, my turkey gun. I use the SuperSport for pheasant and clays. It is a great pheasant gun holding 5 shells and it shoots steel 20 ga loads extremely well (steel is needed for pheasant in ND and Iowa). I owned a camo M1 and it was a very nice gun. However, the SBEII and SuperSport seem to work better for me. If the M2 feels good, buy it. No pressing need to spend twice as much on a SuperSport. The SS does have one advantage over the M1. The chamber comes apart in two pieces, similar to the SBEII and makes cleaning very easy. This is important if you are shooting 100's of rounds at clays.
You should also look at the Vinci. It's priced in between the M2 and the SuperSport. My hunting buddy just bought a camo 12 ga Vinci and it is a sweet gun. Very light and easy to disassemble for cleaning. No reason that Benelli could not produce a 20 ga barrel for a 12 ga Vinci. He is actually hitting ducks with this gun, a definite advantage over what he used to shoot. Steel loads through a Belgian A5 with a fixed full choke.

This will allow you to use many after market slings. I put this forend cap on my 20 ga and it works great. If your SuperSport has a wood stock, you will have to attach a sling mount that you can get at most gunsmiths. If you have a composit stock, the mount hole on the bottom of the stock should already be there. As you can see, Numrich is sold out on this part. They were sold out when I ordered, but the part showed up a couple of weeks later. I think that they don't order these parts until they receive an order.

Make sure that the barrel doesn't twist when you put it up. On both my SBEII and SuperSport, I had a problem shooting to the left because the off center back of the gel pad made the barrel twist slightly when I put it up where is was comfortable. This caused the middle "sight" to be slightly right of the front sight. I switched to LimbSavers on both guns. The recoil is much lighter and the "twisting" problem went away. I'm not a big fan of the Benelli gel pads. I have available all three LOP if anybody want's to buy one.

Let me rephrase the question:
How are the pheasant numbers on public land. I really don't care about pheasant numbers on game farms.
I learned last year that the great pheasant hunting in SD only pertains to $400 a day game farms or private land. Spent a week in pheasant central, saw hundreds of pheasants, but nothing in the land open to the public. Won't waste my money in SD again.
The ND report is promising, but I have driven 94 between Dickensen and Bismarck six times this year and I have only seen 5 birds. Last year, on my April trip I counted 57 dead and 30 live pheasants in the 100 miles. This year 4 dead birds at the same time of year. I have seen more pheasant wandering around in MT than ND this year.

I just saw the 2009 road and nesting counts for ND and Iowa and the results are dismal. For those of you who live in the pheasant areas, is this season going to be as bad as it looks?

Replace the stock Benelli recoil pad with a LimbSaver. LimbSaver makes two sizes that fit without modification and the reduction in recoil is very very noticeable. They pads will run only about $40. I replaced the stock pad on my new SBEII with a LimbSaver with a 10401 and the recoil pad on my 20ga Supersport with a 10400 speed pad. I can now shoot 3.5" steel shells out of my SBEII without wanting to go hide somewhere. I also like the way that the LimbSaver fits my shoulder better than the Benelli gel pad. The off center curve in the Benelli pad causes the gun to twist a bit when I put it up. By the way, if anyone needs a Benelli gel recoil pad, let me know - I have all three LOP sizes and I am not using them.

The Vinci is a very very nice gun. It's light and it still kicks a bit, but my buddy shoots it like it was made for him. A very very nice dead-on pattern with the factory mod choke and 3" steel #4 shot at 32 yards. It shoots a little high for me and would need some adjusting but it is a very nice gun. I won't be trading my new SBEII in on one anytime soon, but if the the Vinci was out when I bought my SBEII, it would have been a tough decision. If you are looking for a light 12 ga that shoots great, the Vinci is for you. I would still add a LimbSaver recoil pad, but I'm a bit of a wuss about recoil. I really like the LimbSaver pads and they seem to fit my shoulder better than the Benelli pads. I also really like the way the Vinci breaks down. It took a little getting used to for assembly, but it breaks down and is much easier to clean than the SBEII and that's saying something.
