You get what you pay for to a certain degree and I would be suspicious and have a serious look at the gun's internals and ask if I can test fire it. There is probably something wrong with it.

Good job I don't really care if you use a ported choke or not they don't pattern noticeably worse with most loads but I often speak my mind about what I think when people ask about them. I doubt I can make time to get to Missouri so no turkeys this fall. Hopefully there will be plenty of other animals though.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if I remember right that is how it is supposed to be. If it feels fine there is no need for modification. Does it feel bad?

They are both great guns the vinci has only 1 advantage over the M2 if you ask me and that is the action. The spring is easier to get to and the top half of the barrel is part of the receiver making for very easy cleaning. The factors you need to consider is price, ease of cleaning, and fit. Other than those the guns recoil about the same, weigh about the same, and work the same way.

Are you talking about shims or LOP?

The super nova has a sling hole on the ring that holds the barrel on the magazine right under the cap you could weld a piece of metal to it and copy that design.

M2s have a tiny bead installing a bigger bead will drop your POI and the gun patterning high means you need to shoot under the bird slightly not choke looser. What shim do you have in your gun?

Sounds like a problem with how the gun fits you. An adjustable but plate will most likely solve the problem.

I think the shape and size of the receiver paired with that shotgun stock make an optical illusion or something.

The M2 american is a good gun without the comfortech, but you won't be able to sell it for much it is basically an M1. Go look for a used one in good condition the benellis are very durable and one that is slightly used is as good as new. I buy most of my guns new in an opened box or with less than 100 rounds through it. I paid under $1000 for a camo M2 with all the factory parts like the oil and five chokes and and hard case and trigger lock. It didn't have a mark on it. Given time looking at forums, gunbroker, gunsamerica, and local pawn shops you can find great deals.

Its not a very big bore its a 223.

The vinci is only available with smooth bore barrels so make sure you use rifled slugs for best result such as federal truball or remington sluggers etc.

Do you have the sling mount hole on the bottom of the buttstock or do you just need one on the cap?

The Cordoba is another good option it is a super sport with a darker matte hunting finish. Are you talking about a normal M2 with comfortech or the american M2? That sounds like a steal I paid just under $1000 for my M2 camo and it was new in an opened box. That sounds like a steal for an M2 field.

Well my turkey season isn't going great because it doesn't exist. The fall turkey season is closed due to low population I may get the chance to go to Missouri. Make that shot count.

Benelli chokes as well as many other stock chokes have notches cut in them where you don't have to remove the choke to know if its a mod or not. Your mod choke should have 3 notches cut in the end that is easy to see with your choke in the gun. I don't think a longer parallel section will make for better patterning but I am not for sure. I am pretty sure a longer tapper section will make for better patterning.

Well like the post above, just because that many can fit in the tube doesn't mean that many will fit into that tube with a really long compressed spring.

Your nova may pattern higher than your mossberg did, meaning you may have to aim under the bird slightly. Don't worry I shot trap with my nova when I first got it and shot 8 out of 25 first time and then 16 and slow progress from there. Pretty soon I was hitting in the 20s then I kept hitting 24s and I have hit several 25s with it. Not bad for 2 months shooting that nova. You will get better.

You cant be serious you were actually serious when you said that, why put an extension on such a beauty BTW what is your barrel length and what capacity is that extension.

Even if an extended choke throw a better pattern you would hit 99.9999999999999% of the targets with a factory mod choke compared to an aftermarket choke. I prefer a cheapest extended non ported choke from briley if I have extra money or as a gift. Or for my trap gun I will buy the same chokes as I mentioned in the restriction(s) I need.

If you want to start with an airsoft gun or bb gun tell them they have to show responsibility and proper safety before you will let them handle a real gun, and watch them when they don't know your looking and see if you see them using it in a way that would be unsafe with a real gun. Just a thought.
