  1. You should be fine, as the 3 digit numbers go down it gets tighter, but for the smaller numbers such as .025 mean how much its restricted and as the number goes down the restriction goes looser. The number you posted is the actual inside diameter of the choke.
  2. As you know a choke starts out almost the same diameter as the barrel where the shot enters it. As the shot travels down the choke the choke gets tighter like a funnel. This taper compresses the shot and makes it spread less over distance. A longer choke that extends out the barrel will make the taper longer and spread it out in theory giving more even patterns. They do to an extent but almost always you would hit what you are aiming at with the factory choke if you hit it with an aftermarket extended choke with the same restriction. Benelli crio chokes that are flush with the barrel are just as long as most other extended chokes like remington chokes. One major advantage is ease of changing chokes. It is tricky to remove a flush choke but easy with extended chokes. If you shoot trap where you might have to tighten your choke a lot or change chokes they make it a lot easier.l
  3. I have owned many airsoft guns and they can put an eye out and kids that haven't been taught gun safety will shoot each other when they think the parents don't know. They are lots of fun but don't teach proper gun safety. I wouldn't encourage a spring piston air rifle because they are very difficult to cock and are very big and heavy for smaller shooters. What I would recommend is a single shot 22 long rifle with rifle sights and small dimensions. You can find them easily. You can load 22 shorts in them which are tiny and quiet and will kill birds and tree rats and rabbits and most small game. You can load long rifles in them which are very cheap but louder and more dangerous but still relatively quiet and safe after a short distance in the woods. It will teach him to make that 1 shot count. A small 410 shotgun would be a good option because it is not very dangerous after 50 yards with bird shot and is easy to kill squirrels and birds with.
  4. In theory the M2 will cycle faster but i still think the M4 will cycle faster than you can pull the trigger. The M4 is also heavier due to the gas operated action. If you want just a plain gun with maybe a mag extension but not any more accessories and you price is a factor go for the M2. If you plan on putting accessories on the gun or money isn't a big factor the M4 will better fit your needs.
  5. There's no way that is a stock front bead if its bright and a Truglo. Stock Benelli beads don't have enough surface area to draw in light to make it shine. A way to make it stop shining would be to cover up the fiber optic material on top with paint so it doesn't draw in as much light.
  6. There should have been 2 locking plates that came with the gun, one in the gun and one in the shim kit. You can flip the locking plate around and it will have 2 letters on each side, one of the letters will read "DX" and one "SX". Dx is for right hand and sx is for left. So when you install the D shim, find the locking plate with "D DX" on it and install it where you can read it with the recoil pad removed and it should be right side up.
  7. Either you have bad shells or there is some serious force that should not be there taking that brass off. It is impossible to take off by hand alone and pretty hard to take off with hand tools.
  8. Those look like some hard kickers 4oz is way overkill though. How much do they drop at 100 yards sighted in at 50?
  9. Good job Tucker that is a really nice set up there, and good luck.
  10. The M2 has 2 more chokes, comfortech and the take down hard case and the american doesn't.
  11. Thanks for all the help and info, the crimson trace grips look like the best bet if I put a lazer sight on it, and I guess I can just hold a flash light. I found out that Mudhen was right its a G22. The night sights sound like a good idea and I will look into them.
  12. I know I have bought to many guns this year (5 including this one) but I found a deal on a 40 cal glock in perfect condition and a spare mag. I paid $400 for it and it is the 15 round model. I don't really know a lot about pistols and I want to know is it a good pistol and was it a good deal. I am thinking about putting a lazer sight and flash light on it so if anybody has any suggestions for any good but not needles accessories I would love to hear them. Here she is:
  13. I am pretty sure it is a fixed choke barrel, and the riffling will make your shot spin and have a doughnut effect meaning it spreads out in a ring with a hole in the middle, If you ever want to shoot any kind of shot that isn't a slug than you should either have 2 barrels or a smooth bore.
  14. Plus they put real comfort tech in the SBE it is just there for looks in the super nova, but Im with you, my stock 870 camo super mag will do everything that gun will do, but if I really had plenty of money sitting around, that would be my new turkey gun. Congrats on the new gun.
  15. You can get the non ported 24 inch barrels, but if you don't want a rib you will have to get a rifled slug barrel and use rifle sights.
  16. She is a beauty, if you sell your gun on gunbroker, you will probably get the most people possible seeing it in one place and that usually means the most you can get for the gun. EDIT: Cabelas is a middle man so they buy it very cheap, and they sell it as high as they can get, and you want to sell it as high as you can get which means it wont work out ideal for you.
  17. If you shoot with a rest where that is not the recoil absorbing type most tend to hold the gun loosely and lean forward more and that is where I have seen most of the experienced shooters get there bell rung by a scope. If you wear safety glasses while shooting from a rest I doubt it would even hurt but I have never seen it happen with glasses. If you are shooting of a fence or something make sure the gun isn't to low because you will tilt your head down and you will loose eye relief.
  18. No.The Cordoba stock will, and I am pretty sure the Legacy stock will.
  19. I am not trying to make you sound stupid, but is the third choke in the gun?
  20. Hello and welcome to the forum. The difference between the nova and super nova, are the comfortech and the trigger guard. I also believe the super nova has a thicker layer of the plastic material on the receiver. The super nova's stock compared to a semi auto benelli, is the hardness of the gel. The comb aka cheek piece is much harder, and the recoil pad is slightly harder. I have owned a super nova and currently own an M2 so I can tell the difference. I also have an 870 that has a similar weight to the super nova and notice negligable difference in recoil. The super nova has a bigger trigger guard that allows more room for heavily insulated gloves. The super nova has a shim kit included with it which allows you to adjust point of impact aka POI. The shims allow you to adjust how much you "float" the bird or how far under the bird you have to aim. You can adjust POI on the nova by adding something such as mole skin but it is time consuming to get it right, and doesn't look very good. If the price difference isn't a big factor I would go for the super nova because it looks better and allows room for heavily insulated gloves and is easy to adjust POI. They share the same barrels, internals, and and fore arm. They are both great guns and they wont disappoint you.
  21. I in know way made or try to make you sound stupid on this thread, I actually mentioned using your technique as a good addition to breaking it in. Read my posts on this thread again.
  22. Really? I have a red shirt I swore was fiber optic
  23. I think it is fiber optic. I don't completely understand fiber optics, but I know they draw in light and concentrate it at 2 points where it is cut. So I am assuming it draws all the light in from every where but the two ends where it is cut. The "frame" around the bead that holds it on covers up surface area, and it is very short in length giving extremely little surface area where it needs it. All that means it draws in very little light and shines ever so slightly. If you have a really long fiber optic sight like the champion easy hit you know it shines like a lazer. Bow sights that wrap fiber optic around the sight are that way so it has the most surface area possible to draw in light. Just because it doesn't shine doesn't mean it isn't fiber optic.
  24. Because I haven't been here but less than a year. I can't speak on others behalf.
  25. The fiber optic material it is made out of is brittle so if you dont want to damage it use a cloth and don't squeeze to hard if you use pliers.
