  1. Thank you for the useful reply. I would do it myself, but I don't want to waste my money again on another ported choke, I used to be a big fan of the ported chokes, believe it or not I found out learning that the patterns with ported chokes, were no better than a non ported chokes. With some loads the non ported chokes were noticeable better, much so with federal flitecontrol, which include black cloud, and the turkey loads I use. In theory the choke slowing the wad down, would make a looser, but still even pattern. I never noticed this, except with flitecontrol wads. I think I might have misunderstood you. You said the choke slowing the wad down, would allow the pellets to travel ahead of the wad. And I am assuming you meant it would provide better patterns. Can you please explain to me how that would make better patterns? The wad influences the spread rate of the shot. I would think that interfering with that set rate would only make bad effects. All things considered, patterns don't lie, but people do. I am not saying you are lying, I would just have to see some patterns to believe all the things said about this choke. Would somebody with a kicks highflyer please post a pattern?
  2. Defiantly the SBE2, for me I have to have my 3.5"s for turkeys. I have an M2 which is a 3" chamber, but I have an 870 with appropriate camo and a 3.5" chamber for turkeys. The vinci's new action has a slight advantage over the SBE. I will call the vinci's action the IL for "in line" and the SBE's action ID for "inertia driven". The typical ID action uses the inertia provided by the recoil to operate the action. This type of action, is more reliable between cleanings, considerably lighter, and much simpler than the more common gas system. The inertia provided by recoil throws the bolt back, and a spring in the but stock (the part with the comfortech) returns the bolt. All the same goes for the IL action, except that the spring is located right behind the bolt. This makes for a slightly lighter, and with less weight to slow it down, slightly faster cycling. The IL action also allows for easier cleaning, because on the ID action, you need to take apart the recoil tube in the butt stock containing the spring, at the most once a year for reliable cycling. The Vinci has a slight weight advantage, but only slight. The Vinci's 3 piece design is no advantage as far as I am concerned. I used to carry my supernova around in a full length hard case, which made it tricky to take to shoots with 3 people in a sedan. The SBE2 comes with a 2 piece case, where you have to unscrew the for end cap, and pull the barrel off, and lay it in the case, very easy. The 2 piece case included with the SBE2, is as small as you would need it, I can't imagine why you would need it smaller. The Vinci is a surprisingly light kicker for such a light gun. Not a big difference in recoil compared to a SBE2. You may tell yourself you don't need 3.5"s, but eventually you will wish you could try them, assuming you are an active hunter. The Vinci is markedly new and hard to find parts and accessories for. If eventually it became popular, had time to prove its self, was available in 3.5", as cheap as the SBE2, and I was looking for a 3.5" shotgun in that price range, I would go for the Vinci. For now, my advice to you is get the SBE2, and you can always sell it for a Vinci if it were to gain popularity, and come out with a 3.5" chamber. I doubt you will be disappointing whichever gun you get.
  3. With my results in a smooth bore the rifled choke and sabot slugs didn't provide near as good results as a plain IC choke and truballs. The rifled choke provides only as much rifling as a pistol, and therefore I got about the accuracy of a scoped pistol. I would be confident with a decent sabot slug in a smooth bore with a rifled choke to make a 100 yard deer shot. A rifled slug would get me close to twice that range with almost identical groups.
  4. I just used it for eye dominance issues, If I lost both beads it wouldn't be a big deal, I doubt it will come off if you clean it and press down on it. It could happen though.
  5. I know the feeling, don't beat yourself up about it, there is usually a better deal.
  6. Think you sir for your apology, and thanks to Tyson for the support. I am sorry for anything I said that may have made you mad.
  7. Here is some more examples of me being an "***-hole". These are people thanking and complementing me, do you think they would say this to an "***-hole" I could find more examples but don't have the time.
  8. I don't really take it you have read all my posts.
  9. For a second there I thought you actually shot them:)
  10. Please don't continue this child like name calling. If you would please explain to me why that choke is the best aftermarket choice you have made to date. How many aftermarket choices have you made? Do you honestly think you kill more ducks with that choke than you would with a plain extended non ported full choke? Have you noticed an improvement in the percentage of kill shots? You wrote "TONE" in capital letters to mock me. I did not just decide to capital the word I did when replying to vincishooter for no reason, I did it because he clearly did not read or comprehend my previous post entirely and I didn't want to repeat it again. You are clearly immature and if stating the obvious makes me an @$$ hole than I guess that is what I am.
  11. The "old" benelli ID system stays just as clean, and in theory the Inline system would have more muzzle climb than than the old system. The old system has weight going downwards, muzzle following suit, where as the Vinci goes strait back and has no affect on the muzzle climb compared to normal systems. The bigger comfortech I think is what makes the difference with the vinci. The old system is almost as easy to clean, the only advantage the vinci has in cleaning is the spring is in the action. Taking apart the recoil tube on the old system is time consuming, but only needs to be done yearly for reliable cycling.
  12. Actually, I think the stoegers spring is around the magazine tube, not in the action like the vinci, or in the but stock like the "old" benelli system.
  13. It will be a while tell you see the raised comb option for the vinci. It is not a big deal though, you can raise your POI a little with the shims. The Cordoba, Super sport, Sport II, and Legacy are all the same gun in different finishes, so I wouldn't worry about finding parts to fix it. Believe me I have an M2 with the same action and it is great I would never worry about it being obsolete. I have shot the Vinci and it kicks just a little lighter than the Cordoba, and the Cordoba kicks plenty soft. The Cordoba is just an awesome gun IMO. The Vinci is just a M2 with a new action and 3 piece design. The 3 piece design isn't that great because it is confusing to take a part, and the Cordoba comes in a 2 piece case where all you have to do is unscrew the forend cap, pull the barrel off, and lay it in the case. The 2 piece case takes up very little room. The Vinci owners on this forum might be mad at me, so I will list some vinci advantages. It is 2 shells worth the weight lighter, cheaper than the cordoba, has a better bolt release, and is a surprisingly soft kicker for a 12 gauge under 7 pounds.
  14. On my Super Nova I just placed it right behind the bead. It didn't look right but it was no big deal. On my next gun (M2) I took the sight off by taking a cleaning patch and placing it over the sight, and using an adjustable crescent wrench tightened down, unscrewed it. Then I wiped the section of rib down with the included cleaning patch and let it dry a couple minutes. Then I very lightly set it on the rib. Then I made slight adjustments to its position by pushing it to line it up. Then I pressed down firmly and it was ready.
  15. I am interested once you find a price. Is this for the M1/M2/SBE or M4? Is it a full length tube or an extension that you connect to the existing tube?
  16. Shoot some clays and it will help you break the old habit, tell your self before you shoot to aim under the clay every time until you get used to it. Put the D shim in and it will lower your POI slightly.
  17. Never seen them locally, nor the few places I look online for them.
  18. The Cordoba is proven, the vinci isn't completely, the Cordoba Is available with a raised comb (aka cheek piece) that lets you raise your POI significantly, The Cordoba is available with a 30" barrel which swings smoother, and as mentioned porting and extended chokes and extra shell.
  19. +1 where did you find federal turkey loads in 7? Smallest I can find is 6. You could have effective penetration with a 7 in high velocity or heavy weight.
  20. Tucker, your stated method would be a nice addition to your patterning, but I like to get my gun shooting strait, with a slightly high POI, and then see what imperfections are present with your method, and adjust myself to perfection, not my gun to imperfection. I know it is hard to break old habits, but a $20 skeet thrower, an old car tire, and a board in your backyard or a local trap range will change that with enough practice. I broke my self into a high POI gun with some practice. I started telling myself to shoot under the target over and over again tell it just became second nature.
  21. I think you misunderstood me, I purchased that gun, I am not selling it. I am just telling you what kind of deal I got.
  22. There is a benefit to the In line ID system, the only real advantage the vinci has over the M2 or Cordoba is the new In line system. The spring is in the receiver behind the bolt so it is easy to take out and clean. The old ID system however, you have to take apart the recoil tube which is a lot of work if you have ever done it. You only need to take it apart maybe once a year though.
  23. You need to pattern it at about 20 yards, use the biggest piece of paper you can find, make a 1/2" dot in the middle put your tightest factory choke in, use a rest or a pillow on a table, line the bead up with part of the dot barely showing past the bead, shoot, you have your pattern.
  24. Its pretty good, I got an M2 28" in camo new in an opened box with everything that came from the factory for $950
