nimslow, do you have any additional photos of your work? How much did you take off? Was it worth the effort? I don't feel like I need a lot of trimming, but I think I'll be more comfortable.

I'm thinking about buying another field stock to mess around with shorting the LOP. Anyone had luck with this?

I dont remember this step being an issue, wonder if there is some sort of thread lock. I know the mag tube has it, but I cant imagine anyone thinking thread lock on the stock is a good idea.

The only thing odd about using an M4 for trap/skeet/sport clays is the odd looks you'll get from the folk shooting 391s.

Zero interest in a SBS M4......until now. That thing is pure sex.

Damn, I need to start maintaining my M4. I don't think it's ever been cleaned or oiled.

I have one and love it. You get less funny looks when running a sport clay course than with a pistol grip or C-stock. :-)

I did it with a flat head screw driver a few years ago, not sure how I did it, but it worked. Now I have snap ring pliers

It would be worth the sum of the parts plus the gun. Parts are so readily available at this point, you would only make a few dollars off someone too lazy to do the work themselves. Then again, its worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and there's a sucker born every minute.

Field stocks are tough to find. Took me a few months. Doesnt help that every M4 comes with a pistol grip. I see them from time to time on Gunbroker. I know that doesnt do much for you considering you are looking for a trade. Good luck

So just to be clear, Benelliwerks thread was NOT for an M4, but the only difference between his write up (which is great BTW) and the M4 is a D ring vs a snap ring?

I'm in the process of 922r'ing my M4 and was looking at the followers. I like how obvious the red is, but honestly, I dont know if it really matters. I think the silver could cool but wonder if I'll miss the red. Anyone go with a different color? Any thoughts?
