  1. I did it on a Form 4 using a trust. I did the trust using a $20 Quicken product "Willmaker" or something like that. Used it three times now. If you're just using it for NFA items, there are some good examples on message boards of the content. There are some state specific req's so I'd recommend using a legal prep software tool to get the boilerplate then add in some minor NFA specific edits. My next NFA toy will be a suppressor. I'm undecided on the host / application. Leaning towards Ruger 22/45 w/ thread on can.
  2. And yes the wait is now >6 months. I bought & paid for my SBS in Sep 2012, received it in Dec 2013! Bought it out of state so had to wait for a dealer-to-dealer xfer in there as well. Cost for basic shotgun was $1836 (included C-stock and fixed PG stock), plus $200 tax stamp, plus $65 xfer fee to local dealer.
  3. Good point about the profile difference....my shooting buddy has an 18.5", I'll take some caliper measurements along both barrels next time we go out.
  4. It's a factory SBS....it was done by whoever Benelli works with to mod 11707's into 11724 or 11722. Sorry don't know who does this
  5. IMHO a heat shield would sell very few units. The light mount has been a persistent problem for over a decade for thousands of users. As far as I can recall, you're the first one to ever even mention a heat shield. In a gunfight with an M4 it is extremely unlikely any user anywhere will get through more than 18 rounds of buck/slugs. Again just IMHO, it is a solution looking for a problem. I think a high-end C-stock replacement, with a vastly better cheek weld & integrated storage & QD fittings & integrated limbsaver may be viable IF the vendor could secure a large LE or USMC contract.
  6. Looks good...what kind of mount is that on the Aimpoint Micro?
  7. The factory steel 14" mag tube weighs 7.869 oz, so on a SBS you save 3.78 oz. I would guess on an 18.5", the difference between steel and Ti same length is about 6oz
  8. Thanks. I only tried the G2 LED, which fits great...it's just an older, weak-sauce light! The LaRue "short" mount is one solid piece (no riser) and puts the Aimpoint Micro at the perfect height for a good sight picture and cheek weld on the C-Stock when in its middle LOP position...which is how I use it.
  9. While I had my 14" torn down pretty much completely yesterday I weighed each item and put it into a .xls for reference. Note I forgot to weigh the AVA mount & G2 LED light, which total roughly 6oz
  10. Thanks....but don't be...you still have the best M4 on the forum! I was just comparing the output on that G2 LED to my newish M600U and I think there will be a P2X Fury singe mode getting ordered soon! I could put a Malkoff drop-in in the G2, but that's about 60% the cost of the Fury. May do both and just throw the G2 in my glove box.
  11. After a ridiculous wait...my stamp came back and I once again have a M4. I had sold my 18.5" about a year ago to fund this. It's setup the same as my old one except for the AVA light mount & IWC rear sling mount.
  12. Finally got mine mounted on the 14". I put an plane-jane G2 LED on there as a placeholder until I can figure out a better setup. It clears the barrel by about 1/2mm and the mag cap by about 1mm
  13. Great thanks -- sounds like the P2X is an optimal setup with the 14" if indexed as you suggested.
  14. On the 14" M4...is that P2X touching the barrel or does it just barely clear? If it clears that's the setup I want to go with on my 14". Thanks.
  15. Got my mount today, looks great and nicely packaged....now just need a M4 to put it on! Should have my stamp in another 6 weeks or so (14" in NFA jail).
  16. Thanks for the SBS pics! I bought my 14" last October and between the dealer to dealer xfer and then the Form 4, I still don't have it. Stamp should be here within 60 days. Really appreciate what you have done for the M4 enthusiast community! This light mount issue has been a huge thorn in our butts for a decade now, with really no decent solutions until now!
  17. I just ordered one for my 14"...gunna run a SF P2X Fury with the single mode head (i.e.the Pat Rogers version). Will post pics ASAP, but will be a while as my 14" is still in "NFA jail".
  18. I got mine today....its for a 14" SBS. Ti & park'd. Ordered on 26 Jan 2013. Tube is absolutely perfect / immaculate.
  19. Harbor Freight has high temp electric heat guns on sale for $9.99 till late Sep. I got mine today. I did this job once before w/o a heat gun, used my gas stove top burner to heat up the area on the receiver where the tube threads in...which worked but was a PITA compared to a heat gun!
  20. Go Ti -- takes weight off the worst part of the firearm to have extra weight...faster on target and better all around
