  1. I just received notice that my 14" Ti tube (for a SBS M4) was being made this week. The actual shotgun is in "NFA jail" awaiting the stamp from the BATFE. I actually ordered the shotgun in Sept 2012. It took 2 months to come in, then 2 months to transfer dealer to dealer, and the Form 4 was mailed in January. Should have the shotgun by the end of the year.
  2. IMHO the Aimpoint Micro on a short mount is a better solution for the M4. You'll find that most here who have spent more than we care to say on optics have ended up coming around to the Aimpoint Micro! T1 or H1.
  3. 2 3/4 DRAM clay loads are way weak to reliably cycle a new M4. I would recommend 3 1/8 DRAM or higher. You can get these cheap at Walmart (Federal "Game loads" in #6, #7, #7.5, or #8, all 3 1/8 DRAM)
  4. Great point about the charging handle -- that particlular one is very heavy and could be an issue if shooting loads under about 3.25 Dram eq or if the weapon is not solidly shouldered.
  5. IMHO the cycling issue may be associated with how the Sidearmor top rail mounting bolts are torqued. I would recommend loosening them all and re-torquing them to see if the method by which they were torqued is slightly tweaking the receiver causing intermittent cycling isssues.
  6. Thanks -- I'm trying to decide if I'd be better off with the IWC stock sling loop mount made for the CTR stock or doing a QD IWC dock in the C-Stock plastic riser. I run a 2-point sling. Its tough to mockup right now as my 14" M4 has been sitting at the CL3 dealer for a long time awaiting my stamp (# 11724 bought back in early November). I ran the mesa rear QD dock in the C-stock grip area on my last M4 and it drove me crazy stuck into my chest! I now prefer the rear dock farther back.
  7. Gents, What are your thoughts on doing a rear QD female mount in the left side of the C-Stock cheeek riser? Can use the same IWC dock strangerdanger used in his FFT handguard up front.
  8. A company called "GG&G" makes a similar rear sling loop mounted QD sling receiver mount. Its called the "sling thing". I had one on an M4 carbine a few years back and it was an excellent option for getting QD compatibility out of a regular sling loop. It may be a better for for the M4 C-Stock than the IWC product.
  9. Thanks for the tip onthe KZ mount not working w/ the C-Stock. "That's because there's a roll pin in that hole. That roll pin should be punched out, not drilled. Don't ask how I know." Yes I was pretty brief but meant that even after punching out the roll pin, I still had to slightly enlarge the roll pin roll in order to fit the QD sling dock hardware.
  10. I've used the mesa c-stock rear QD sling receiver on my 18.5"....it was OK but did involved drilling out that pin hole a bit. On my 14" M4 SBS (Form 4 pending)....I'm gunna use an HK hook on the sling to interface with either the HK hook hole on the c-stock or alternatively the KZ Benelli M1 / M4 Ambidextrous Sling Adapter between the receiver and the c-stock. Up front I'm going to follow StrangerDanger's lead and do a QD dock integrated into factory handguards. Will post pics once its done (waiting on BATFE).
  11. Back in September I ordered a 14" Benelli M4 model 11724 (comes with C-stock) from Dixie Ammo Dump (outstanding service by the way). After a few weeks it looked like all they could get in was the 11722, which comes with the fixed PG stock. They threw in a factory new in box C-stock to effectively make it a 11724. The Form 3 transfer took a while and the shotgun arrived at my dealer yesterday. I went in and did the Form 4 transfer paperwork yesterday. Now the real wait begins! Probably going to be 7 months or so before I can go pick it up. I sold my 18.5" back in October and am getting the trigger time itch! I did keep all my other M4 "goodies" (i.e. Aimpoint H-1 w/ LaRue mount, Kip Rail, Ti charging handle, ect). I may pick up an 18.5" barrel and full length Kip Ti tube (about $1K total for the two) so that I can swap it over to a non-SBS configuration at whim as long as I dont lock-tight the mag tube on. Also gunna pick up a field stock so I'll have all three stocks for prosperity! Pics to follow in about 7 months
  12. No disrespect but here is my honest feedback as a long time M4 shooter. The setup is far from optimal. Accessory selection & setup is indicative of someone not well versed or current in combat shotguns or their employment. The base M4 was a great choice, and the C-stock selection was good. A carrier comp Ti tube should have been used instead of the 2-rnd extension to remove weight from the front end, oversized charging handle selection was the worst of the available options, Light/VFG combo selction was poor and adds weight in the worst places. Breach standoff is likely no-value added in this app and adds 3-4 ounces in the worst location. The positive thing is you already have the best starting point available. My best recommendation to transition this into a great situation is to remove both VFG's, light/laser, side saddle, go back to the factory forward handguard, remove the breacher, and sign up for a "top-tier" combat shotgun training class. After a 3 day class with a nationaly renoun combat shotgunner/gunfighter you will be prepared to configure your M4 in a way that is appropriate for gunfighting. Again no disrespect I'm just providing inputs/recommendations to help get your M4 setup truly optimized.
  13. Why the F#&K is a railed forearm marked ITAR? Its a piece a machined aluminum rail! You may be able to order one on eBay and have it shipped to Italy. Bottom line the ITAR restriction is incorrect/wrong and likely applied by a bedwetter.
  14. Check gunbroker. Should be able to find a used one with the PG stock for about $1250.
  15. The magazine tube is now sold as well. I'm going to be M4'less for about 6-7 months as I await the stamp on my 14"!
  16. ****SOLD**** Selling a 7-round Titanium magazine tube for the M4. Parkerized finsih to match the 11707. Includes the longer magazine spring. I sold my 18.5" M4 yesterday and no longer have a need for this (14" on the way ). Has a very light wear mark on both sides from having the BMT MOD-C flashlight mount attached at one time. $160 shipped to you in the CONUS. Please either email [email protected] or text/call 575-921-4225 if you want it. Thanks, Cal
  17. Update: today I sold my 18.5" 11707 and bought/ordered a 14" 11724! I should have hands on the 14" in about 7 months (tax stamp). I bought it from Dixie Ammo Dump as recommended by pboneal. I don't want to quote the price out of respect for the seller but will say that it was cheaper than the $2K Impact Arms charges. I'll post pics when it hits my CL3 dealer in a few weeks.
  18. SOLD pending receipt of payment. The 7-round Titanium magazine and spring are still available for $160 includes free shipping (makes it a 9-shot)
  19. YES it did! After I noticed it starting to scratch the barrel/mag...I wrapped the area where the mount contacted in black electrical tape. Some time later the manufacturer started shipping the mounts with clear poly pads to protect the finish. I sold mine off a few months back to a board member. I still feel its a great mount option but just not quite right for me. I do run weaponlights on all my AR's (Surefire X300's at 12 O'clock at top/forward part of rail near muzzle device...which works awesome for me.
  20. A few people have asked for different configuration pricing, so here's an itemized list: $1350 for the shotgun as it comes from Benelli +$300 to add the collapsible stock including Mesa Tactical QD sling receiver (-$50 credit of you don't want the fixed pistol grip stock) +180 to add the 7 shot titanium tube (and you also get the 5-shot steel tube) Additional level of detail below: Benelli Collapsible Stock with integrated Mesa Tactical QD sling receiver. Price = $300 (or $250 if you don't also want the Pistol Grip fixed stock. CarrierComp Titanium 7 round magazine tube, makes it a 9-shot shotgun as you can ghost load the M4 (one in the chamber + one on the ramp + full mag). Note the tube has light wear marks in the parkerized finish near the barrel end from a 1" flashlight / QD sling combo mount I used to have on there. You also get the factory steel 5 shot mag and both mag springs. They can be swapped back and forth in about 90 seconds if you ever need to for some unexpected reason (maybe hunting mag restrictions?) http://shop. carriercomp.com/product.sc? productId=3&categoryId=4 Price = $180 Also, please note the barrel of the M4 has light wear / scratch marks from having a 1" flashlight / QD sling mount installed (it was the CDM Gear BMT MOD-C mount http://www.cdmgear.com/ product.html ) If you would like better pics or more detail on anything please let me know. Thanks, Cal
  21. Hey Hookster, Sorry again for the slow response to your IM. Here's a pic of my former BMT MOD-C setup. I sold it for a few reasons, including I disliked having to bust out an allen wrench to field strip, I had trouble actuating the light well under stress, and the QD sling receiver placement was not all that great for a right hander. I'd really like to see pics of your new setup:
  22. Zeke -- if the buyer would like the C-stock instead of the fized PG stock -- add $250. If they want BOTH stocks, add $300. I do not want to sell the C-stock separate until the person buying the shotgun gets first dibs. Thanks, Cal
  23. Hi, I'm selling my Benelli M4 Super 90 shotgun. Benelli part number 11707. Shotgun has exactly 145 rounds through it and has been 100% reliable. Selling to fund another firearms project. Includes the original factory box, manuals, and packaging as well as everything else it comes with new (i.e. choke removal tool, ect). The shotgun is shown here the way I have it set up now with well over $1K in accessories –– these are NOT included for $1350 however are priced in third post down in this thread. For $1350 you get the shotgun as it comes new in the box from Benelli with the fixed pistol grip stock and factory magazine tube (5+1+1). $1350 FIRM, face to face in Albuquerque or I will ship anywhere in the USA for $25 (check your local firearm laws to make sure its legal where you live). Text/Call 575-921-4225 or email [email protected] Thanks, Cal PS: I sell on eBay as calviroman with over 200, 100% positive feedbacks
  24. I contacted Sidearmor and they said they will make you a Mod 3 rail systems with the solid top rail cuts (i.e. no sight channel machined in) upon request. This is good for folks like me who use LaRue QD mounts as the sight channels tear up the mounts over time.
