  1. Sale includes +2 extension tube taken directly off the M2 tactical, corresponding factory magazine spring, and factory end cap. This will give you a total capacity of 5+1. Spring does not need to be cut/altered. All are in like new condition.

$55 net to me will cover cost of items and USPS priority shipping within continental US. Prefer certified bank check for payment.

  2. Got to shoot some slugs through the M2 last weekend and noticed I was shooting high and WAY right. At the time, I didn't play with the sights too much as I figured it was just technique. So today I picked a laser bore sight that loads directly into the chamber. The projected dot was slightly high and significantly off to the right.

To get the sights and laser dot lined up correctly, it took about 8 clicks to move the point of impact down (clockwise) and roughly 60 clicks (counter-clockwise) to move the rear sight to the left. Note that there are only about 75 clicks from center, to each side. Now obviously the real test will be to see if this new adjustment actually translates to accurate shot placement, but if it does, should I be contacting Benelli? Something just seems wrong about having to make such a large adjustment.

  3. Is there any way to remove this part from the end of the extension tube on the M2 Tactical?

I have the Dave's Metal Works barrel/tube clamp with a sling attachment built into it, so I'm not sure I need/want to keep the larger sling attachment. Also, it's already scuffing up the bottom of the barrel. I'd like to give it a quick plasti-dip to prevent permanently damaging the barrel's finish, but can't seem to get it to separate from the rest of the screw-on cap.

  4. I just started using my M2 two days ago and had the same issue. I loaded and shot less than 50 shells yesterday and I have definitely noticed a difference. It has become a bit easier to load/unload, but especially loading. Unloading has become easier, but what I'm having to do is press the release/eject lever which gets the shell at least half way out...then I'm pushing it in a bit and quickly releasing pressure to allow it to fully eject. Two days ago the shell wouldn't even come a quarter of the way out.

One thing that I'm a little confused with it how the manual describes the unloading procedure. I'm just not understanding the verbiage regarding locking the bolt back. Currently, I'm having to rack the bolt twice to get it to stay back...not sure if that is normal or the proper way to load/unload.

  5. I realize this is a fairly old thread, but I stumbled upon it while looking for information on the DMW oversized safety (and pics of it on the M2). I'm not sure how DMW compares to GG&G in terms of quality control, reliability, reputation, etc., but after hearing about this recall it makes me think twice about aftermarket parts that serve any sort of vital role.

  6. Hi Y'all. Curious of the same thing myself I contacted Benelli directly and asked the question.. To my surprise the fella on the phone began rattling off groups I had never heard of, along with some I do know. I asked him to email a list to me, and I pasted it below. I think we can clearly chalk this up to fact, not fiction.

    1. UK Army and UK Special Forces (SAS, RAF, Royal Marines)
    2. UN Missions (Burundi, Ivory Coast, Sudan, Chad, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti, Timor,..)
    3. Italian Army, NOCS, Carabinieri and SF
    4. France GIGN
    5. Spain Policia de Catalunia, Basque Police
    6. Germany GSG9 and SEK
    7. Irish Army and SF( Army Ranger Wing) An Garda Sciochana Police (ERU)
    8. Brazilian Army and SF
    9. Argentina (Gendarmeria Nacional, Prefectura Naval)
    10. Egypt MOD (Unit 777), MOI (Hostage Rescue Force)
    11. U.A.E. Police force 7, MOD (UAE Armed Forces)
    12. Singapore Police Forces
    13. Bahrain (NSA)
    14. Kuwait, Kuwait National Guard
    15. Jordan (Military Office, Gendarmerie, GID)
    16. Oman (Royal Guard Oman)
    17. Quatar MOD (Amiri Guard)

Thank you very much for posting this. I think people are confusing caring with curiosity...I never intended to attach any real "worth" to the claim, but it's interesting to see what organizations adopted this platform. Makes me wonder what factors outside of cost, if any, led to choosing the M2 over the M4.

  7. I know you meant Federal law but some states do have bans.

Where I live the state law is:

CT Assault Weapons Definitions regarding Shotguns (Date : 3/20/2011)

A semiautomatic shotgun that has at least two of the following:

    (i) A folding or telescoping stock;

    (ii) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;

    (iii) A fixed magazine capacity in excess of five rounds;

(iv) An ability to accept a detachable magazine

I think NY state is even worse but I dont know the wording for their current AWB.

So considering the above, an M2 tactical with the comfortech stock and a +4 extension tube (7 total shells) should not be an issue...I've had more than one gun shop tell me otherwise. The fact that so many people are continuously misinformed should tell the government something about the lack of logic behind these laws.

  8. Direct from the Benelli M2 webpage: "The M2 tactical is a no-nonsense 12-gauge shotgun that police and military the world over reach for when the going gets tough."

    1) poor proofreading on the part of the website editor

    2) what police and what military units are actually using the M2?

I've searched quite a bit but haven't been able to find any confirmation. Perhaps I'm not using the correct search terms, so I was hoping somebody else might be able to help provide an answer.

  9. First thing that jumped out to me was the angle of the barrel...shouldn't he be pointing/aiming and looking upwards? Considering that image was taken after the shot was fired, you have to assume the aim and barrel position was actually even lower before the trigger was pulled.

What is the original source of this photo?

  10. Wow, almost unbelievable.....almost. This is the worst gun hysteria I've ever seen in my own lifetime. So very glad that I bought my HK pistol the evening of the Newtown incident, and just 3 days ago secured my M2 Tactical through a GunBroker auction. I think it's going to be quite a while before things get back to normal, or even close to normal.

  11. Lets say you have an M2 tactical with ghost ring sights and the typical 18in barrel. If you were to swap the barrel to a longer field version with the typical bead sight at the end, is it possible to "overlook" the rear ghost ring and effectively use the front bead? Or would you have to remove the rear ghost ring every time you wanted to use the longer barrel?

I have access to a 26in benelli barrel so I'm just trying to think out potential setups if I purchase the M2 tactical.

  12. Keep us advised on the progress.

Well, turned into a huge waste of time/effort. After ordering when it was deemed "In stock", having the FFL info sent, and then speaking with 2 people directly about the availability, 10 days later I get an email saying that the order was canceled because it wasn't in stock.

Is this typical availability, or is it simply because of Newtown and new proposed gun laws? Are these M2 tacticals really that hard to come by on a regular basis?

Back onto the search again... M2 tactical with 18.5in barrel and Comfortech stock; anybody with a lead?

  13. MUCH thanks for that info. I've decided I'm not too concerned with fitting flush, and after looking at more and more pics, I think I actually like a bit of space between the end of the extension and end of the barrel. 5 + 1 isn't too bad, but I may eventually look for a tube to give me a total of 7 + 1 capacity, especially for HD purposes. I didn't realize that the different versions ship from factory with varying mag capacities, and therefore, I already purchased a +2 Benelli extension tube separately.

No big deal though. I actually purchased two M2's (field with 21" and tactical with 18.5in barrels), so I guess I can just add the extension tube to the field version that I am planning on selling.

  14. I think I'm getting a bit confused...

This image on Benelli's official M2 page (http://www.benelliusa.com/shotguns/benelli-m2.php) has me a bit confused. Is the tactical version being shown with the optional +2 extension tube? The 3-gun with the optional +3 or +4 extension? And the field with no extension?

I was under the impression that all 3 models ( or at least the tactical and field versions) shipped with standard 5 shell magazine capacity...Can somebody clarify?

  15. Spoke with the FFL dealer today. They said it couldn't be accepted if it had a pistol grip, non-welded muzzle break, flash suppressor, bayonet lug, or telescoping or collapsing stock, or extension tube with over 5 shell capacity...so, it looks like I'm good to go!

I actually ended up ordering two M2's:

1.) Tactical version, 12 Gauge, 18.5" , 3" Chmbr, black synthetic standard stock, tactical rifle sight

2.) Field version, 12 Gauge, 21", 3" Chmbr, ComforTech Synthetic Stock, Matte Finish

Will swap the ComforTech stock to the tactical model and post the field version up for sale...if anyone is interested, PM me. Both are brand new.
