I think they are just talking the barrel mating with receiver.  But, won't click if you are gentle.

WOW, thats what she said but I wasn't gentle on her and I heard the click   ? ?

Assembling my brand new Benelli M4, following the instructions in the Owner's Manual.  Step 7:

"With the barrel extension resting on the bolt head, and the bolt head fitting into the recess formed into the barrel extension, slip the barrel into receiver. A metallic click will indicate the barrel is correctly seated"

I don't hear any clicking sound, but the barrel is flush with the receiver (see pic).  I can pull the barrel away again with a moderate tug.  Does this sound/look correct?  It seems the fore-end fastening cap is what really keeps the barrel tight to the receiver.

The bolt cycles fine, everything appears to be in order, I'm just concerned because I do not hear a metallic "click" per the instructions.

Hope it's right cause I can't wait to shoot this baby.

I just assembled my M4 recently and had similar question only that when I did that step I did indeed hear the click!  Though after learning the disassembly I reassembled the second time and no click!  Mine cycles fine as well!  I spoke with the King @StrangerDanger and he said all was good!   I guess I was overthinking being I was so excited, ?

I've saved up some money and I'm looking to get my first gun: a Benelli M4. As I've been reading up on it, I've gotten confused as there seems to be different models of it, some don't have interchangeable chokes, etc. At the very least, I know I want a pistol grip, the collapsible stock, and the 7 round magazine tube, but I've read that other parts should be replaced as well.

Would anyone be willing to give me a simple 101 on the Benelli M4? What parts can and should be replaced, where to purchase one, and what other things should I know?

I'm already aware of the benelliparts.com site, r/gundeals, and the Taran Tactical version.

This is the model I waited for 5 months to come in and love it!  With military discount it came to $1900.00 shipped to my FFL!

  4. Hello all,

Haven't shot or broke in my new Benelli LE 11721 yet!   I know it's a lost cause but any one have any idea of places on the web I may find some Federal or other decent brands, slugs and 00 buck!   Any other ammo to run through break in!   Bulk if any!

    Thanks

Well since this is your second thread about the same topic, why don't you just go onto Gunbroker and bid on one of the H20s that are listed?
Just know that you will pay AT LEAST $3,500 for this gun, more likely the final bid will be between $4,500-$5,000. It doesn't appear that any 11711 models are listed but you can set up item alerts so that you're notified once it shows up.

  6. Thanks for sharing this,

I got my M4 11721 over a week ago after waiting 5 months to come in!   Haven't shot it yet, can't wait!   Ammo is not plentiful to buy!    I hear good things about Federal 00 and Wolf ammo!

what have you ran through yours for brake in!

I’d disassemble it, inspect it, see how everything works. Clean off the packing protective oil. Oil it up wet with something good on the action. Grease the sear contacts on the trigger pack. Leave the pistons and magazine dry.

Resassemble and take it out. Fire low dram value pack stuff to see how it performs with weak ammo. Shoot as much buckshot and slugs as your shoulder and wallet can stand.

    PM sent thanks

Disclaimer: new M4 owner as well.

just broke her in on 29 Sept..she easily took about 75 target/light loads with NOT one hiccup. Tried around 7-10 rounds #5, no problem.
Assembly was NOT as seen on YouTube.. more in line with my manual( mine came from Italy ?? with the trigger prepped for assembly, so no reason to take out the trigger group.  Absolute bad ass gun.. my face still hurts from smiling sooo much! Enjoy and be safe!

did not pre oil anything, cleaning her this weekend.

    Thanks for the response!

  10. Is there any best way to break in my new M4. Model 11721!

like firing different types of 12g ammo, slugs and such?

do I need to oil it and what ever else things I may need to do first!

any tips and info would be much appreciated!

    thanks

Yes, that sounds right. The FFL's need to verify the serial number on the firearm itself. Sure, the number on the box usually matches but not 100% of the time.

    Thanks

I found out by FEDEX tracking that is was delivered to the FFL here today at 12pm but they have'nt called me yet so I guess I'll call in the AM!

    Michael,

All new M4 or M2 tactical Benelli orders will have a April of 2021 Delivery date.  This will give you a framework of reference as to the demand on these products.

Sounds about right, I ordered my M4 in  May and just got the call end of September it came in!   They told me the production is backed up and material is scarce do to dema!

  13. Well guess what,

To me it feels like I hit the lotto, got a call from the website today  and my 11721 arrived!  May 22-September 29!

I did ask why so long and he said that manufacturing and material avalibility slowed things down and he went to say it came from Italy!  Don't know how true but I'm happy!

I had to get some info for them and I said can you hold for a minute and he said you held for months so take your time, lmao!

Also I asked a question about the packaging, he said once they received it, they have to open the box and verify something, I forgot exactly what he said!  Does that sound about right!   He asked for my FFL, I gave him their number and he said it would be shipped today to the FFL!

BassPro sent me an email last night and said order cancelled - item not available....  Maybe somebody at BassPro decided they would keep it for themselves and scalp it on GB?

Ass Pro jerked me around as well, now I just use them as a FFL!

I asked Benelli USA today about if they were expecting any more in this year. Reaponse below.

"Thank you for contacting Benelli USA. M4’s are currently sold out for the year. I apologize for the inconvenience."

So, I paid an extorted price on GB to get one.

They probably take the back order into that equation, I hope being I back ordered mine May 22nd!

First post here. I took possession of a new M4 yesterday. I had been on a wait list at my local sporting goods chain store for about three weeks. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from them so soon. I expected not to hear anything for months. I couldn't bring myself to pay the prices on gun broker.  Anyway, I'm pretty excited to finally own an M4. Thanks!

Lucky, I ordered my pre order around May 20th, now August 12th still no show!   So I just try and forget about it and chill!   Oh by the way, I've spent the money I saved for it, twice, yes 2 times so it's not that bad, ?
