Tell me about the Quadra fit system. Which shim cast set up will lower the gun when shouldered  ?

Install the shims that will add more “drop” to the stock, that lowers the end of the stock helping you look down the rib instead of seeing rib. The higher the number on the shim the greater the “drop” distance of your stock fit.

Think of the recoil pad end of the stock as a rear sight. When making sight in adjustments you move the “rear sight” the direction you want to move the point of impact on the target.

  2. @remarkable     You knew where I was going with the model # question.😉

Why Benelli choose to make a 3” AND a 3.5” SBE3 when they already have a 3” M2 is something I don't understand ...but I've been tinkering with Italian shotguns long enough to know they do what they want to do and tell us Americans we will like it.

Bought a new sbe3 to replace an aging sbe1, purchased 1/19 went out yesterday loaded a federal blackcloud 3.5 first one dropped in the chamber, 2 in the magazine pulled up fired and had a failure to extract. round coming out of the magazine was stuck partially in the magazine and wedged in between the trigger group. disassembled gun cleared it and figured, fluke.  Went to cycle and round coming out of the magazine get wedged between the magazine and trigger group. took a pocket knife and pushed back of the round up and it came free in the rear but front sill stuck partially in the magazine. So I changed shells thinking might be a overly long shell, Kent 3.5 tungsten, same issue, Switched to Winchester 3.5 same issue. At this point I am wondering WTF. Changed back to my SBE1 cycled and shot all this ammo without an issue.

I am at a loss here is looks like the space between the magazine and trigger group is not allowing the round to fully exit the mag and get picked up by the feed ramp. I can duplicate and take pics if necessary

    @misslebait

Which model # SBE3 do you have?

  4. At one time Benelli sent their Performance Shop guns to various stateside gunsmiths for the “enchantments” (and as far as I know they still do). The hunting guns go to a well known shop that advertises a lengthened forcing cone as part of the package. Your chamber looks like the FC reamer may have slightly touched the edge of the chamber while in use. The good new is that little scoring mark will have zero effect on the shotgun's operation.

Yes it will drop the shell when the trigger is pulled, but won’t drop the shell when firing a live round.

That sounds exactly like a weak magazine spring and/or debris hanging up the follower.

If by chance you are using a magazine extension tube you need more spring pressure and make sure the spring/follower is not hanging up on the junction of the factory tube and extension.

Look up “shell surge” ...the situation where the shell in the magazine tube move forward under recoil. If this is happening the bolt may also lock back with shells still in the mag tube.

Other than this I don't have anything more for you. You may need to get your SBE3 to a gunsmith familiar with the Benelli action.

Yes it will drop the shell when I hit the silver drop lever.

When the hammer falls (whether firing the gun with live ammo, or dry firing on an empty chamber) does a shell exit the magazine tube?

One more thing...and you probably know this but some don't....  the Benelli will NOT let a shell out of the magazine tube by just be opening the bolt. The cartridge drop has to be activated which only happen when the hammer falls or you manually active the lever.

  7. Start with taking the trigger group out of the receiver and check to see if the hammer is staying cocked, the disconnector is functioning properly, and the cartridge drop lever is rotating on the hammer pin correctly and has spring pressure to return to its down position when the hammer is cocked.

As the title says, I can never get my SBE3 to fire on the first round.  I always get the infamous click.

I am aware that the most common answer and suggestion deals with the bolt not locking completely.  I've tried several methods to ensure this isn't the case.

    - I've manually loaded the shell into the chamber and used the bolt release.  Visually inspected the seating of the bolt and noticed no discrepancies.

    - I've loaded the shell into the magazine.  Pressed the cartridge drop lever.  Pulled the bolt back manually to cycle the shell into the chamber.  Visually verified bolt seating afterwards.

    - I've done both methods listed above and manually pulled the bolt back and pushed it forward again to verify that it twisted completely at the end.  Still clicking.

-I've tried not pressing the cartridge drop lever after chambering the shell with no success.

After the first attempt and subsequent click, I can push the cartridge drop lever, manually cycle the next shell, and it will fire fine.  As long as I keep shells in the magazine it will continue to fire.  If I don't press the cartridge drop lever, I am only able to eject the currently chambered shell and the bolt locks open.

I would like to know opinions on this matter and possible solutions.  It's a variation of the common "click" problem I've read about with the SBE line but unique in that it doesn't happen randomly, only on the first chambered round.

When letting the bolt go forward in these examples are you letting the bolt fly forward under is spring pressure, not holding it or touching the operating handle in any way? (Sounds like you are operating the SBE3 correctly, but still worth asking just in case)

  9. One of 2 things:

The screw may have been loctited and will require some heat to loosen. Use a solder iron, or nail heated red hot and held with vice grips, to warm the screw which will soften the Loctite. (this is the most likely scenario)

If the bolt release stud has broken loose from the latch and is turning/spinning when your try to turn the screw you will need to get some thin long nose pliers between the button and side of the receiver to hold hold the stud while you unscrew it (and then plan to replace the shell latch)

  10. Sorry, we do not have a M1 here at the moment. Center the hole vertically between the barrel and magazine tube and at a front/rear position that approximates the location on that M2 in your picture. Use a file or dremel tool to remove just enough material to let the nut to fit into the forearm

We install the Matchsaverz on all the popular 3 Gun shotguns for our clients quite often. Get'em in, get'em out.

SBE 2 & SBE 3 Barrels will not fit your Super Black Eagle.  SBE barrels are going to be very difficult to find.  Souces like EBAY, Gun Broker.com, Slinks Gun Parts would be good sources to start watching.  You may need to purchase another used gun to get the barrel.  If your barrels are not bulged you may wish to freshen them up by having them cerakoted.  Good applicators can get very close to the OEM color.

Please PM me if you wish I may be able to assist in finding a used gun.

Will the SBE2 barrel not fit the SBE if ALSO using the SBE 2 forearm? OR modifying the original forearm?
