  1. Roth Performance used to make a Monotube for the Vinci, but they were discontinued around 2018. You might find one on the 2nd hand market.

The Vinci tube magtube is more involved given its forearm/barrel connection. They are going to be more pricey than a standard extension tube for other models.

Benelligunny, thanks for that post. My 828 seemed to be somewhat loose and then I was having a problem with the top barrel ejector not releasing when I opened the gun. It hung up and if I closed and reopened the action the spent shell would eject.  Cleaning didn't help. My action is now properly adjusted and I'm hoping that will resolve the problem. I also discovered that the set screw for the adjustment screw is missing.  Do you by any chance have the specifications for that screw, as I don't see where I can order one from Benelli.

    Thanks,

Shooting 3” 2s and 3s. Recoil tube/spring is clean. Almost seems like hammer doesn’t have enough power to hit firing pin? Maybe I’ll replace pin and spring and go from there

Does the hammer fall with significant force/speed when you take the trigger group out of the gun and hold it in hand for testing?

Was this a one time occurrence? or does it "click" on a majority of shells now?

  4. If this was a gun with an extended magazine tube I would tell you the magazine spring it too short/too weak – the last round coming out of the tube does not get pushed all the way back into the action....but since its a factory length tube something else may be the problem....but I would try a new magazine tube spring first, and make sure the plug is installed properly and not binding up the spring.

    When reassembling the magazine parts:

Follower > spring > plug (with big end toward the muzzle) > spring cap

  5. Start with Improved Cylinder for traditional buckshot shells (some loads might pattern better with Modified, but IC generally works well).

If your Buckshot loads has a Flite Control wad use Improved Cylinder or Cylinder (no constriction). Anything tighter will degrade the pattern.

  6. Remove the 2 metric set screws in the ejector housing (#28 on the schematic), they are loctited in place and may need heat to get loose, then slide the ejector case back out of the barrel extension. Put the new ejector and spring in place in the ejector housing, then slip the ejector parts back into the barrel extension. Tighten the the set screws and you should be good to go.

  7. Has it always done this, or did it just start?

What type of ammo is stovepiping (brand, velocity, weight of the shot load)

(No.... this gun, or any other, will perform at its best potential with EVERY type of ammo. There is some junk ammo out there)

Thanks Steve , only in black?  And if you mesure top to top without the pad ? How much is smaller ?

Black is the only color of Compact stock I have seen from the Benelli factory.

Sorry, I do not have a stock on hand to measure. A call to Benelli customer service might provide that information.

  9. Are you saying the 2nd shell is not coming out of the mag tube and cycling into the chamber?

If that is the issue is the 2nd shell coming partially out of the magazine tube, but not getting far enough back into the action for the bolt to close and feed the shell into the chamber? - or is the 2nd shell not exiting the magazine tube at all?

I know the plug limits capacity.  What is the main purpose?  Hunting regulations?

Yes, many hunting regulations in the USA, especially for migratory birds/waterfowl, limit shotgun capacity to 3 rounds total.

  11. I can still ghost load* my M2 with the MOA Precision auto load parts. Since the J-Kenny parts use similar design mechanisms I suspect you can still ghost load, but I have no first hand experience with those parts.

    * My M2 bolt has the usual modification that allows ghost loading

I hear ya, but this is why a really detailed video should be made, in my opinion.

If the Auto Lifter causes the bolt to be held open, then how does one close the bolt? I know I sound annoying, but if they had an adequate comparison video, I think it would help them a lot. I just wish they would demonstrate EXACTLY what functions are altered after installing the Auto Lifter.

To close the bolt (without inserting shells into the tube) you press the bolt release - just like you do on a stock gun.

If you shoot the gun dry the bolt locks open as expected. You can either press the bolt release to close the bolt, or load the tube and let the gun “auto load”

All the “auto” parts actually do is (1) let you load the magazine tube with the bolt locked open on an empty gun (2) allow a shell to come out of the mag tube which activates the shell latch allowing the bolt to close and chamber that round chamber.
