  1. Todd from FFT sent out his weekly "Inventory Status" email this morning and there was a link to OEM H2O parts.  I assumed these were mostly external parts and Cerakoted.  I was wrong, there are a lot of internal bits-piece-parts for the trigger, trigger assembly, BFG, gas pistons, etc.  So, I sent Todd an inquiring email and this is his reply:

"I do not have a definitive answer across the board - however I believe them to be NP3.  All of them.  The dimension that would be added by Cerakote would render many of these parts unusable."
    - Todd

His answer makes total sense to me.  Can anyone confirm that they are NP3?

So while expensive, there maybe some items listed that would spawn your interest.  https://freedomfightertactical.com/collections/benelli-m4-oem-h20?page=1

Nice truck, I’ve got a 2019 myself. It’s my daily and a lease so I don’t plan on doing much, but definitely a tune in the near future.

Since we’re posting up blue trucks I’ll throw mine up too, it’s a 2013 Raptor I’ve owned since new. Speaking of front end work, I just upper control arms, lower ball joints, and brand new 2.5” foxes and brakes all around. I have a brand new set of method wheels and 35” BFG KO2’s waiting to go on. I’m done spending on truck stuff for a while

Curious.., where are you located?  Looks like the east coast or maybe texas gulf coast.

Here are some pics so you can see what I'm talking about

Am curious about the bulge in the mag tube being a limiting factor.  The bulge portion of the mag tube screws into the receiver.  The picture on the left above appears to be the muzzle end of the foregrip.  With the mag tube installed with the reinforced (bulge) end against the receiver, does that prevent you from installing the A/A mounting bracket on the receiver end?  My OEM, FFT, CC and Nordic Comp mag tubes all have a reinforced end.

Then again, I could be AFU!

I was just doing some Nordi Comp searching as a suggestion to your issues.  It looks like you've got it figured out.  Question though, I couldn't find a mag tube extension nut for the M4.  I know Nordic used to have them as I have had one on my gun for years.  The one I have resembles the nut for the Nova/Super Nova. SKU: NUT-BR-12-00.  Is that he right one?

Thank you guys for the fresh feedback. Oh, thx dad for the forum rules!?

Whelp, I guess we got off to a rough start.  My apologies.  You're right, the latest intel is usually the best.  My only point was (and then I'll drop it), there are some old posts that give great tutorials on things like mag tube removal, trigger guard tear downs, gas piston tear downs, stock removal, buffer tube (rear receiver extension) replacement, etc., things that don't change much over the years.  Benelliworks and Stranger Danger have done some great work along those lines as have many others.

Regarding the mag tube removal, 9 Inch follows the normal and recommended practice.  I ended up using a heat gun instead of a torch which took longer to finally "smoke the Loctite" but it worked.  No pipe wrench required to loosen the tube, just my monkey paws.  I didn't apply any thread locker on the new tube because I wanted to be able to remove it easily.  I just ensure it is hand tight on reassembly and it's good to go.

Not to cut you off or discourage questions, but I'd recommend doing some searches on this forum to see what comes up.  There is a ton of good info on here and a lot of discussion on upgrading parts.  You'll also find some really good tutorials on changing out parts like the mag tube, and doing other mods.  Remember, if you're going to change out the mag tube, you'll also need to change a couple/few more parts if you choose to stay 922r compliant.

I originally went with a Nordic Comp mag tube and different NC tube extensions to give me a 12+1, 10+1 and finally 7+1 with a Carrier Comp tube.  I remember the first time I fully loaded up (12+1) and had my friend launch clays as fast as the trap machine would thrown them.  I had to change my pants when the smoke finally cleared!!!

Pardon the stupid california compliant BS.

How do you like the "pistol grip" on your AR?  I've got the Thordsen stock and I find manipulating the ambi safety switches almost impossible without changing my grip.  Assuming you made your stock non-adjustable.

Is it necessary to use loctite at all? Would a real good hand tight lock it in? I am thinking for cleaning purposes, no loctite.

I'm with you.  Since changing out the mag tube from OEM to Nordic Comp to FFT to Carrier Comp, I have never used loctite.  Hand tight works for me, but I check it during reassembly to make sure it remains tight.  Then again, I don't use the mag tube spring retaining clip either, I just let the barrel locking nut do the work of keeping the spring in the mag tube (always wear safety glasses (or close your eyes?) when dicking with that mag spring!).  That makes it easier to run a dry swab-its down the mag tube on occasion to remove any dust or dirt.  No lubing the in the mag tube or on the spring.

  9. According to Freedom Fighter Tactical, these are the parts listed by the BATF for achieving 922(r) compliance when you decide to "mod" the gun to increase shell capacity.   To learn more, go their website and select "Learn" or "Videos" from the top menu.  Videos are long but informative.

well crap... I didn't know I could order all that from them.

Briley's website is kind'a cryptic and just requires a lot of exploring.  You've got to hit all their pages and do searches to get the full gist of what they have and what they can do for you.  I was all over their website several months ago but I still see guys posting Briley links that I hadn't discovered.  Downloading their different gunsmithing/3-Gun price lists provides some good insight.  I hope Briley is listening here.

Hell, maybe it's just me getting old and cranky!  Damn COVID lockdown.

I've got to ask (after re-reading this thread several times looking for the answer), what state do you live in?  If it's Cali, I'm not aware of any limitations on capacity beyond the limit of 10 rounds in the tube.  I'm not including the 922r compliance issues here.  For a shotgun, you can't have BOTH a pistol grip AND a collapsible stock.  Since Benelli collapsible stocks come with a pistol grip, it satisfies BOTH of the evil features in Cali. You can have either the pistol grip or field stock versions with increased capacity if you maintain 922r.

I've read some posts recently that seemed to confuse or include the requirements/limitations for ("assault") rifles with shotguns in the Cali's Assault Weapons Ban (AWB).  They are different.

Of course, if your not from cali..., never mind... .

Having said all that, I think I bought my field stock from you!  I prefer it because it allows me to "load 2" easier.  As a right hander, you keep the right hand in a firing position grip but dismount the stock from the shoulder and rotate the gun to the right by rotating your right wrist while placing the butt stock between your side (rib cage) and right forearm.  This exposes the loading port for a left handed load-2.  Your right hand never leaves a firing grip.

Pistol grip stock or not, it has no bearing on compliance with 922R, unless it is a US made stock.

This is my understanding as well.  If you have a fixed stock (either pistol grip or field stock) you need to replace 3 parts if modifying the gun to maintain 922r compliance.  If you have an OEM collapsible stock, or change the stock to OEM collapsible, you will need to change 4 parts to maintain compliance.

Hmmm, I think I just repeated what Evolution just said...

FFT has a few videos on the issue here:  https://freedomfightertactical.com/pages/fft-videos
