  1. I have both the esstac 7 round and vang comp 6 round cards. They both work fine. I wouldn’t want to lug a fully loaded M4 around with 7 extra rounds on the side for long. It gets heavy in a hurry for me. I think I prefer the 6 round cards. I’ve taken the adhesive backed Velcro off and it caused no damage and left no residue.

  2. Outstanding turn of events. Welcome to the forum. Clean up your M4 and properly lube it up for break in. It’s like operating a luxury car in my opinion. Have fun!

I ordered the TTI one from stranger dangers recommendation, specifically asked for the newer model including a pic of the two types.. and they still sent me an old one.

They were very helpfully and receptive, sent me a return label and the new one should be here tomorrow

    Exactlioto. Sounds very familiar.

No updates.  I haven't fired it since I discovered the latest wear.  I would love to see other owners post photos of the their piston housings . . .

I have no idea how the barrel bulged.  It was on its second range trip and I was shooting pheasant loads and some fiocchi and federal low recoil slugs.

I am trying to get my hands on a Mossberg 940 Tactical for a comparo.

The 940 pro Tactical looks promising. I hope they get it right. I had a miserable time with a 930 tactical

I'm a fan of the new TTI stainless handles. They lock into position better than any other handle I've tried. Like how the OEM one locks into 3 different positions, this one locks into a single position and has directional texture.

I like the new TTI too. In fact, I ordered one and they sent me the old style. I returned it. I told them that I wanted the new version and the man on the phone acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about. I’m not sure exactly how to get the new version.

Ultimately, one must look at fact:

OP Purchased a Benelli M4. A Benelli M4 is described on Benelli's website as having a "Phosphate finished barrel" or a "Cerakote finished barrel", depending on the model purchased. OP's Benelli does not, indeed, have this, at present, even though OP was not consulted or informed of this fact, even though OP purchased a model which OP understood to have a phosphate finished barrel. OP did not receive what OP paid for.

I too would want exactly what I paid $2000.00 for. I’m not a rich man.

  7. I actually just put a Briley handle on my M4. It looks good, fits good with good clearances. I like it better than the stock handle. Seems like it will work nicely. I’ve only shot a few rounds with it. I’m not a competitive shooter.

Well, keep us posted on what you find, I was seriously considering getting one and am curious if damage after limited use is common, thanks!

I don’t have any deformations or unusual wear under the hood. The 1301 has been flawless for about 400-500 rounds. I love it. I’ve said it before, it’s not a replacement for the M4. That said, I 100% trust the 1301T. If you can have both, you should.

I have been shooting my 1301 a bunch the last two weeks testing out buckshot loads for reliability and patterns.
The 1301 recoils hard, probably due to its weight so I have been looking at loads in the 1250-1300fps range (it has

been completely reliable with low recoil slugs).

I went to clean it this morning (probaby about 120 or so rounds through it total) and found some shocking wear.  See the pics below.
The piston housing is getting chewed up.  And now the thin plastic tube the bolt carrier rides on is getting gouged.  Will it crack?  Who knows.

This gun has already been back to Beretta for a bulged barrel.  Oh, and today the action spring decided to unseat itself from the PLASTIC keeper and hang up

on the tube threads making disassembly a pain.

Below are shots of my 14 year old M4 and its pistons (second pic they have been cleaned with Hoppes).  Not a hint of wear anywhere.

The fragillity of the 1301 is shocking.  I think its best to just run it dirty and leave it that way.

Dang. That’s not what I want to see. I suppose I should disassembled mine and see what’s going on.

I have put around 8k shots through my Benelli m4, about 5k of them being light loads, never had a single issue with even fiocchi, which a lot seem to have issues with, or claim to.  Been flawless.

My M4 can be particular about lighter loads. I’m not sure it’s totally broken in yet. How many rounds does that take on average? Anyways, it is perfectly reliable with ammunition for which it was designed. God forbid I’ll ever have to actually use this gun in battle, but if I do, I won’t use the cheap Walmart target load if I can help it, lol.  It stays cruiser ready with 00 buck in it. The 1301 has not failed once. I fully trust both of these shotguns. It’s great to own things that work.

I happened to have 150 gift card balance collecting dust on Amazon.  Looks like I’m trying out a crossfire.

I have the Vortex Venom mounted on the stock rail. It works well. I just wish it were motion activated.

  12. These are both fantastic shotguns. One does not replace the other. I’m fortunate to have both. The Magpul stock is mounted with a GG&G adapter. It works nicely. I think the Aridus adapter looks cleaner, but I couldn’t find it in stock at the time.

  13. I just bought an enhanced 1301 Tactical with a straight stock. 7 round mag tube. So far I love it. Light as a feather and reliable. Doesn't replace my M4, but I'm really enjoying this shotgun. I ordered a GG&G stock adaptor and a Magpul stock. I'll post up when I get it and install it. I couldn't find the Aridus adaptor in stock anywhere.

That is a fine looking shotgun Kilyung.
