Groundhog
I am really confused and need, welcome some wisdom and counsel. I've been using Win HV#5s with a Kick's Gobblin Thunder .660 choke ... recommended by Kick's ... with only so-so pattern. Despite not being recommended ... I recently tried the Rem Hevi-Shot #5's with this set-up and it was outstanding at 25 yards and at 40 yards as well. Is this dangerous? Why is it not recommended? Should I be concerned? I can't afford time or $ to do all the variations many suggest. HELP!

Groundhog I called Chuck at kick's and he told me to use the .655 G/T with the Winchester HV #6 3" shot, and .660 G/T with the Winchester HV#6 3 1/2" I got pretty good results at 30 yards with the .655,but didn't try the #6 3 1/2 with the .660 being that the 3" whipped my tail. I will be trying the wadwizard choke after I do some research.
dahambone
SBE+M.A.D. Max Turkey Choke+Winchester HV 6's, 5's, & 4's = Dead turkeys.....believe me....its unbelievable. I also shoot a Nova...with a Primos Jellyhead Choke tube with Winchester HV 6's......whoa....shot my bird this year at 15 yards...and he hit the ground DEAD.....just about blew his head off.......it was of of the most spectacular things I have seen....Primos wasn't lying when they named their choke "Jellyhead". DUKFVR
Groundhog, You can more than likely use the set-up you are referring too. I am using a Terror choke by Sure Cycle that is .655 with HS & It will pattern a load tight enough to kill turkeys over 40 yrds.
