I just purchased an extended tube from a board member.

I also have a NIW ( unopened ) that I paid 350.00 2 weeks earlier..Did I pay too much? Would anyone be willing to buy it for what I paid?

Or do I have a mag tube in search of an M4?

Did you see the one that sold on here for $120 a few days ago? Oh wait. That was you who bought it.

I have the opened one I purchased for 120.00 and a NIW I purchased for 350.00

I only need one...unless I buy another M4...so I was thinking of offering the one I paid 350.00 to recoupe my funds

I would suggest selling it to Cody6.0 when he buys a Benelli M4 because his M2 isn't as good. That way he can just screw it on, it will be OEM, and he won't have the heat the *#!& out of a $1500 shotgun to replace the mag-tube. :p

-Or gun-broker or ar15.com. Gun-broker would be #1 imho though.

I've seen them on GB for 4-500.00 so I thought 350.00 wasn't so bad

True, and you may get a taker here, however, most people here (Excluding Cody6.0) opt for full-length tubes. That isn't to say you WON'T sell it here, but just that it is more LIKELY that you will sell it there.

That would be like trading my Corvette Z51 for a Corvette Z06 just so I can beat Ford Escorts by 26 cars instead of only 24.

Since you seem to find such humor in me prefering the M2 could you at least tell me what the M4 does better.

Built more heavy-duty. Cycles light loads more reliably. Has better re-sale value. Has a collapsible stock option. Soaks up recoil better. Prevents people from cracking jokes about you being an M2 owner when you could have had an M4 if you used your basic mechanical skills.

I wouldn't buy a Z06 so I could beat an escort by 2 more cars than your Z51. I would buy a Z06 so I could beat your Z51 by well over 2 cars.

- Who buys a M4 to shoot light loads?

- It isn't more heavy duty as you call it and anything that is beyond need makes it heavier.

- The resale thing is out the window now that they are readily available.

- I am a man and my shoulder can handle a 12 gauge can't yours?

I could argue with you all day long but it still comes down to the fact that your a cheap ass with an expensive gun and thats all. Really though who buys a $1500 tactical shotgun and then praises it's ability to shoot skeet/cheap ammo, sorry kiddo but thats what I have a 26" Supernova around for. Whats next are you going to tell me all about the sweet rail that comes standard too?

When purchasing the m4 it will take more money off your hands.

I wanted a shotgun that will feed anything I stuff in it. My M4 does that.

Lets face it, you have poor 'smithing skills and don't feel comfortable taking a heat-gun to some lock-tite so you settled for a lesser weapon, sorry, but we could go round and round all day

With that being said who is so cheap that they are shooting loads with less than 2 3/4 dram eq. anyway? If M4 owners want to claim M2 owners cannot afford the M4 why are they the ones shooting low dram eq. ammo?

When it comes down to it if I would have been able to pick up a M4 with a full length mag. tube right of the shop floor my decision would have been different.

- If you look in this and most M2 vs M4 threads someone always mentions price.

- Call me crazy but **** will freeze over before I heat the **** out of a $1400 gun to add a magazine tube, that and for some reason I like to keep factory parts on a gun. I really wish that something could be changed so that Benellis came this way or had parts readily available to do so.

Well here you are rich man! This guy is offering the Benelli OEM part to do so. It is readily available and you are so bloody rich it doesn't matter apparently, so buy an M4 and this guy's extension already!

I am amused at how all you focus on is money and calling people cheap while extolling your own riches, yet every major purchase you have made that you have told us about is not top of the line.

You dont really need to heat the shik out of the gun, I just did it this weekend. The receiver and tube both got hot, but I not to the point where I needed oven mits :D

This comment was neither asked for or necessary, just wanted to join the productive conversation.

Carry on.

What if you want to shoot 200 loads through your shot gun at targets at the range or backyard or whatever for a day? Wouldn't you rather pay $40 for light loads instead of $80 for heavy loads? Wouldn't it be cheaper to but one M4 than a tactical M2 and a super nova? If you shot 100 a week this could add up to $960 a year! And the kick situation, I would rather have less kick even though I can handle heavy loads no problem. I'm not really a HD shotgun guy, but this is just some common sense for you.

Silence fool!

You need to heat that **** until it is ******* MOLTEN RED HOT and the finish is falling off the gun!

As you can see from this page ...

http://www.loctite.sg/sea/content_data/93808_290EN.pdf

Green loctite (290) can ONLY be broken by using a Jet turbine powered strap wrench after placing the entire weapon inside an industrial forge for approximately 4 hours.

I know this because Cody6.0 told me, right after he beat me in a race with his budget corvette.

I'm going to try doing it the natural way...heating it from the inside...by running a hundred rounds through it and then TWIST!

When I put the new mag extension on I plan on welding it in place!

Unless Kip is planning producing a one piece receiver+extended mag combo made from a solid titanium billet!

Seriously, are mag tubes prone to spontaneously falling off? Does the spring pop and spray the bad guy with unfired cartridges?

I have had a full length mag tube for the majority of my 12k rounds, and I never loctited the new tube into the receiver.

Occasionally, it will come loose when I am breaking down the gun ... NEVER when I am shooting, as the mag tube cap prevents any and all movement.

It is a non issue, and a totally optional step to loctite your new tube into the gun.

Metals do expand at different rates. If you put a lot of rounds down range in a hurry, I do believe it could loosen up. The threaded cap has serrations on it to prevent it from unscrewing on that end but since there is no lock washer or spring putting constant pressure on the threaded joint, it could unscrew from the receiver. I probably will put at least a little dab of loctite in the threads when I reassemble it as a precaution.

You will not get the weapon hot enough in that are just by firing it.

Yes, the mag-tube is prone to loosening. My factory mag-tube was removed, then put back in sans lok-tite to do some patterning as Kip's tube is behind schedual. I found I had to progressively tighten the end-cap and eventually tighten the mag-tube (the root of the loosening). I suppose after 5-700 rounds it COULD have launched itself. Did not test to failure.
