SuperNova Red Dot Sights Options

Can anyone send me a link or list off all of the available red dot sights for the SuperNova? It would be greatly appreciated because all I can find is the Burris Speed Bead Red Dot Sight. I want options, they have to be out there...I hope. Looking for an inexpensive one because I already have a red dot sight on my 870 but I want to put one on my SuperNova (temporarily) for my upcoming black bear hunt just to get a big game animal under its belt. Thanks in advance.

Any red dot scope will work, as long as you have a way to mount it to the gun.

That looks like a winner. If your SuperNova is not drilled and tapped already, you will need to have it done. Probably less than $50. That is the way to go! No bulky and unsightly side saddle to deal with. Good luck.

I would prefer to have it drilled and tapped (which means have the smith drill wholes and put threads in them) and then attach a rail to the gun with screws. You can get the rails pretty much anywhere you can find gun stuff. Or you can use a saddle mount:

Thanks guys for both of your help. I've been looking all over for a saddle mount, thanks Trapshooter1.

Are you going with the saddle mount or the drilled and tapped base?

I dont know yet, last night I came across these:

http://www.truglo.com/content/products/firearm/sluggun_rifle/pro_series.asp

Any one used them before? I already have a red dot on my 870 that is dead on at about 85 yards, so its a hard decision to invest about $150 when I could get this setup for about $50. The bear will be at about 25-30 yards...Any opinions?

I had a set that was similar to those on my turkey gun before I put on the Aimpoint. They worked really well, especially in low light conditions. All you need is a little ambient light and they light up like a christmas tree. The problem that I had was that the recoil was so bad that they would move after every shot. The ones I used were Truglo also. That being said, it looks like the ones in the link you provided are built better i.e. they have several screws to tighten down on the rib. They are built for slugs so I think they would work. If you can keep them from moving they absolutely will work for your bear hunt. It should be a slam dunk at 25-35 yards. Let me know which way you end up going. Good luck...

Thanks hognutz, I was hoping to hear that they worked great in low light as that is the time I'm expecting the bear to come in. They guy who is teaching me to hunt bear wants me to not leave the blind until I cant see my hand...don't know if I will stay in there that long but I'm glad that they worked great for you in low light. I'm happy that you have hands on experience with them too because that makes me a lot more confident in my decision making. Thanks and I will be sure to let you know which way I end up going.
