No, if your gun is equiped with the cast shim like the super sport you must have the front cast shim in place with the front drop shim ( should be two up front) in a matched position with the rear plate. By removing the front cast shim it will not allow the stock to be seated properly and could end up damaging the stock and it will CERTAINLY effect accuracy and consistancy in shot placement.
