Postitive Spin on Cheney Hunting Accident

Although many people think of only negative spin on this accident, what about this:

That hunting is a sport enjoyed by the President and Vice President of the United States. Not just Redneck, Hillbilly, Alcoholics, Murderers.

(Because we know, that this is how the Anti-Hunters like to portray us as.)

Between the two of them, they've got 3 outta four nailed.

Murder? - Probably not. At least not by their very hands, but I'd bet they've got some people who know some people.

Do you honestly believe that??

Unfortunately, we can't choose our elected officials based upon ala cart issues.

Yes, the GOP is great when it comes to protecting our right to bear arms, but they SUCK on just about every other issue.

It's tough to put my desire to be able to own a firearm ahead of so many dead soldiers and innocent people who have died for no other reason than the failings of the Bush Admin.

It's tough to put my 2nd Amendment rights ahead of the crippling debt amassed by this administration in their misguided efforts to spread American Democracy to parts of the world that neither want it, or need it.

You raise some valid issues tucker301. We are stuck in a terrible quagmire in Iraq. Do they want democracy? Probably not enough to give up ancient hatreds. Are they better off with Saddam gone? Sure they are. Is it worth the cost? Time will tell.

I feel terrible for the families that lost loved ones, but they did volunteer to serve. The service people are true heros and deserve our gratitude! I know this isn't a popular position, But the war would have to happen sometime.

All the fanatical leadership in the Mid-East hate us americans. Don't know why, but they do. I'm glad this administration decided to do something instead of appease, appease, appease as the Democrats seem wont to do.

I think any group that will hold any right in such low esteem will eventually hold all rights in the same low esteem.

I can tell you why the fanatical leadership in the Mid-East hate us. Because their religion tells them to. We have a system based on free will, with responsibilities, and the laws of man. The Muslim is supposed to struggle to make sure the laws of man and the laws of Allah are the same. They will never have a "live and let live" attitude toward us.

The second amendment is a last chance right...it's the one we must hang onto if we're to ever get the rest back.

When Dianne Feinstein (sp?) said "Mr and Mrs America would be turning in their guns if I just had a few more votes", it proved it is possible for our legislative branch to pass a gun ban. But could they enforce it? I guess it depends on how many people "just said No".

Let me be the first to call a spade a spade here. Our war is against Islam! Bush is taking the fight to them and vice versa. Islam is the enemy of every decent human being on this planet. Although I am a Christian I can appreciate and respect every religion except Islam. We should have taken the war to them as soon as those practioners of the religion of peace blew up those Buhdda statues in Afghanistan the year prior to 911.

Bush's only thing is he is the most inarticulate president we have ever had, and he seems to be apologetic in every thing he does. A sign of weekness.

Don't confuse me with one of these party-line Republicans. I don't think Bush could give a sh** about the environment! An issue near and dear to my heart.

Roger that T Dubya.

Do you guys know of any specifics where the Bush administration has lifted enviro regs? I work at an Oilfeild in Alaska and our regs got stricter under the Bush administration, especially our air quality permit. We had to remove a few pieces of equipment because they would never be able to meet the requirements. One particular piece was a diesel engined generator we used for emergency purposes.

With regards to Muslims and Christians, and Jews, Catholics, and all of the rest so-called religions.

More souls have been lost to religions over the ages than they ever have or ever will save.

Anything that promotes hatred and intolerance the way religions do, has no place in the hearts of truly Godly beings.

Okay, that's cool, but there was an article in the metro section of my local paper a few saturdays ago about how some of the George Washington National Forest might get sold. Now, the only people that are really going to get in on that is people with deep pockets like the logging industry.

Now, maybe it is the closet socialist in me, but I believe in public land. I believe in public lands for recreation, hunting etc. We don't have enough green space. Now who has some of the power to make this happen? The President.

The only decent thing that the Rat Bastage of a President Clinton did was enact some measures to protect this amazing forest and it looks like Bush may want to find some way to overturn that.

Amen to that, but let's look at the basic fundamental teachings of Jesus Christ. Peace, Love, Charity, Children, etc. etc.

How about Buhdism, good will towards your fellow man, self-discipline, respect for every living thing.

Now, let's look at Islam. First of all Islam means submission. Second of all the Kuran says, now I am para-phrasing, but it says convert or kill. Not a whole lot of grey area there if you ask me.

So when someone asks me why we should go to war; I ask them how many innocents lost their lives on September 11th, and that # is how many reasons why I think we should be at war.

I have to agree that there is something radically wrong with a religion which has as a core belief to kill the "infidels" ... which incidentally is EVERY non-islamic!!! Sure, you'll hear the politically correct crowd saying most Muslims are peaceful, and we can't paint with such a wide brush. They'll dance around the issue like a politician or lawyer and you'll never get a straight answer to the question "do they advocate murder of non-believers???" The reality is ... look around the world and who is perpetrating 99% of the atrocities against innocents??? Yes, Muslims. It's about time we wake up and stop calling a rattlesnake a rose.

Well, I live across the river from the World Trade Center and worked in the debris field along with cops & firefighters the day after the 911 attack. I was all for retribution, and wouldn't have stopped with only Afghanistan & Iraq ... but Yeah, I hear you with Bush & his oil buddies. Let's turn our ports over to the country which produced three of the terrorist murders flying planes into the WTC too George??? I'm sure that will reduce my fear of a nuclear bomb coming in; ticking away; in one of those tens of thousands of containers on ships ... right???

And another thing ... if the ratio of men to women has been approximately 50% to 50% throughout the ages ... where do these "martas" who bomb women & school children to death in the name of Allah ... figure their "leaders" are going to get 72 virgin women for each of them in the afterlife??? And if one bomber gets 72 ... doesn't that leave 71 OTHER souls without a partner when THEY get to the afterlife??? I mean if I was one of those 71 nonviolent Muslims facing eternity without a woman, I'd be having something to say about the nuts strapping explosive vests on!!! Speaking of Liberals and politically correct; exactly what say do the women have in all this too?

Hey, I have to say ... is this Benelli website spectacular ... or what??? Great to hear diverse opinions from Benelli people who all otherwise share a/the connection that comes with Benellis, shooting and hunting.

Well, there surely are demented and/or "evil" people in every country and every religion and it has been so throughout time. That’s one of the things that Liberals don’t want to accept. They seem to “understand” why crimes and atrocities are perpetrated ... and therefore blame everything EXCEPT the perpetrator. Some sort of justification for their behavior, thereby absolving them of guilt. I can accept that a McVeigh is indeed evil, and should be taken out of the gene pool. As should EVERY murderer. Our society did just that ... we tried, convicted and executed him! He’s an aberration in American society though, not the rule. Sure, I get mad at the “government” ... I get mad at my KIDS too ... but I still lovem. In primitive times some pretty heinous religious “ideas” held sway and produced deaths and torture that by today’s enlightened standards we find appalling. (the Spanish Inquisition comes to mind) Religion isn’t my strong suit, but I think that was the result of radical misguided applications applied in times when “life” and human rights were seen through entirely different standards. It certainly wasn’t anything that Jesus Christ advocated. But in this country and in the modern age; Christian based religions ... don't "advocate" exterminating non-believers as the Islamic do. (I’m aware that there are hundreds of equally non-violent religions besides Christianity) Draw a cartoon and they’re murdering innocent children. Mishandle? their Koran ... and they’re rioting and murdering innocents. A Russian school catches on fire and they’re blocking the exits because the females are trying to flee without their heads/faces covered??? Burning to death as a result??? ANY excuse is an excuse to riot, burn, bomb and murder. THAT’S EVIL. Can you imagine ANY other culture behaving like that??? Can you imagine finding a church where you have a cleric preaching the stuff that goes on in some of those Mosques? Jihad isn’t some abstract foreign word my friends ... jihad means YOU and your family ... brother!

The problem, as I see it, is that Muslims think they're right and we're wrong.

We, on the other hand, think we're right and they're wrong.

Ultimately, the world has been too small and cultures are clashing as never before in human history.

We all must respect, even if we don't understand or agree with, each other's traditions, religions, and ways of life.

It is impossible for a Muslim to see our agressions as acts of salvation, just as it is impossible for us to see theirs the same way.

American culture is a threat to the way these people have lived for thousands of years. Some of the simplest of liberties we enjoy are seen as radical and unacceptable behaviour by them.

They know no differently, and they believe that their way is the only way. They would willingly and without hesitation, give their lives so that their customs are preserved, and so that their children will live as they have - in devout service to their God.

I don't know the answers, but I do know that as long as these people (and there's a helluva lot of them) see America as the downfall of the basis of their being, then they're going to fight us.

This war is different than previous wars where the enemy was a foreign government.

This war is against a people - like it was with native Americans.

Look what we had to do there in order to achieve victory.

This is how the Muslims see us... and they're the Indians.

They're not all that excited about genocide, and frankly, I'm not either.

If we could get back what we've squandered in Iraq, and focus it on alternative energy sources and efficiency improvements in our consumption, we'd be that far ahead of the game instead of so far behind.

Yes, the soldiers are volunteers, and they gave their lives for their leaders.

I admire and respect that like no other.

But, the leaders have lied about the reasons for going to war, they've lied about what the costs would be, and they continue to lie about what the results have been and will be.

Either cowboy up and deal with them like we did the Indians - or get the f*** out and leave them to live their way of life.
