Is your Benelli this rough inside?

I realize I'm showing up out of the blue with a fair amount of negativity, but I must say that I'm less than impressed with the workmanship I'm finding in this shotgun. I mentioned the bad finish under the hand guards on my in a previous M-4, and now as I take a closer look at the internals I'm finding several areas which are quite rough.

Oh, and the stock is not straight.

I've emailed images to Benelli, and hopefully they will take care of this. I was told to call back after a week and a half if I haven't heard anything by then.

The stock you can fix yourself; you just have to rotate it level.

As for the rest; yeah, people think because of the $$ that a M4 should come with a built-in auto-asswiper and coffee maker, but nice fluff-n-buff isn't much of a concern on a military-issue shotgun. Meeting spec is.

If you don't like it, send it to me. I can use another.

My M4 stocks are misaligned like that also.

I have tried realigning them but it is tricky because you have to

twist it on but not too far, and then install the triggerguard. Kinda a pita trial and error affair.

I just deal with it:o

So shall I assume your internals look the same? I'm just trying to figure out if what I have is normal, that's all.

Yes, the non-mating surfaces on many of the parts in my Benelli look similar to yours.

It simply makes no sense to go to the added effort and expense of polishing an internal part where it doesn't matter.

All of the surfaces that are points of contact with other parts are clean and smooth.

While I agree that polishing for the sake of polishing is not an efficient way to manufacture a firearm, my concern is that these are far deeper than anything that could be simply polished away, and it has me questioning the durability of certain parts. Particularly, the rear of the trigger assembly seems to indicate a lack of concern with casting quality, which does worry me a bit. That being said, the durability of Benelli products is well documented, so I'm not too worried as long as mine isn't outside of the norm.

I wouldn't deal with problems on my $450 SNT let alone my $1500 M4. As for "mil-spec" until they come with a c-stock and static mod. choke they aren't mil-spec.
