What military units use the Benelli M4? Are there any other rail options for a tactical light other than that 300.00 one? Do the military guys like them? Who sells screw in chokes for these?

Who makes the best CQB sling fior this?

Who makes extra shell carriers that attach to the butt stoock or reciever?

Does Carrier Comp make the best tube extension? BTW I just bought one :-)

I will take a stab at it:

What military units use the Benelli M4? - The Marine Corps uses them, and my friends that pack them are big fans.

Are there any other rail options for a tactical light other than that 300.00 one? - no impact no idea

Who sells screw in chokes for these? - Trulock does

Who makes the best CQB sling fior this?

I like the Urbany Sentry Set up.

Who makes extra shell carriers that attach to the butt stoock or reciever?

I got one too, and its an excellent one, and Kip (to my knowledge) is the only one making the Desert Camo version. Another one the popped up on the Radar is:

Hi alfred10

Mesa makes a clamp on rail that should work okay for mounting a tac light

"best" cqb sling is a matter of taste but I use Specter Gear slings with their Buttstock shell carrier as the rear attachment point. I'm very happy with their stuff.

sling:

ammo carrier:

I have a Carriercomp too and don't see how it could be improved on. I haven't heard a lot of feedback on the Freedom Fighter Tactical titanium tubes quality, all people seem to say is that they ship quickly.

I'm not sure who officially uses the Benelli M4 besides the U.S.M.C. but maybe someone else knows.

From my understanding, you can order a Kip tube and have one within a month. It's a bit of a wait but not that bad, so I don't see how they're considered "hard to get". I could be wrong and I hope I'm not since I just ordered one less than a week ago and I was hoping to have it within a few weeks from now. On the carriercomp website it says there's a 2 to 3 week delay on the tubes.

The M1014 Joint Service Combat Shotgun (Benelli M4 Super 90) is the shotgun all branches of the US military will be procuring going forward. The USMC just did the initial adoption and field testing. So, we got it first; but it is the shotgun for all branches.

I remember reading somewhere the SEALs are adopting it as well, replacing the mossberg 590A1 and remington 870. I had a link but it won't let me post it since this is only my second post here and I need at least 5 posts. I guess you have to do the elbow work and google it yourself.

I almost bought a Mossy 590A1 but my wife stopped me and said it was too expensive. I'm glad she stopped me cause I got my brand new M4 still wrapped in plastic in the box for $1299 due to a shipping mix up with Benelli at the local Gun shop. Sure that's considerably more then the $500 price tag that was on the 590A1 but she doesn't have to know. ;)

My only shotgun is the M4 (for now) but there's something to be said about getting a Mossberg 590A1 or Remington 870 as a backup shotty. They're utterly reliable. And--not that it would happen to your M4--you aren't going to bust a piston on the 590 or 870. One or the other is still on my "will buy" list. I go back and forth because I like to modifications that can be made with the 870 (like the stock/grip adapter from S&J Hardware) slightly more than the ones available for the 590; but, at its core, I like the 590 a bit more. But I digress ... Don't write off a pump-action down the road. If the money is there, go and get yourself one.

Yes. Without question.

I don't know of any other manufacturer other than FFT selling Ti tubes, but have you seen one or held one made by FFT?

I haven't held either (FFT or CC), but until I held both, I couldn't confidently say "without question" one was better than the other or that one was "without question" the best.

Man, if anyone around here could give objective tips to the new guys it would be a miracle.

And don't think I prefer one over the other, that is, FFT over CC or CC over FFT. But seeing as how there are only a few manufacturers making ANY good stuff for the M4, or any stuff AT ALL for that matter, I kind of hope all the guys trying to make M4 stuff do well and grow their inventory. And I'm sure the new guys or the guys looking for tips on where to get stuff would prefer to have choice rather than just get pidgeonholed to one manufacturer or another based upon testimonials that fail to actually compare products.

Which is the main reason I try to add some balance to the discussion. I mean, for years since I bought my gun, there have been very few, if any, people making quality M4 parts. FINALLY, CC and FFT come along and both seem to be making a decent go at it. I hope they both do well and both continue to add quality parts to the mix. As I've made it clear many times, I have yet to buy anything from CC because I've not yet bought a tube, and that is all he sells. I have, though, bought a FFT knob and it is top notch quality and function. And, as an added bonus, they have answered ALL of my emails within an hour or two of sending them, and the knob came within a couple of days of ordering. From what I've read, you cannot say the same about CC.

I know that the kind of info I want when I come here for tips is good, accurate, tips based upon first hand knowledge.

It sure would be nice to be able to walk into a local retailer and check out both Freedom Fighter Tactical and Carriercomp products side by side, but that's simply not possible.

I also would have found a review from a knowledgeable person that had both very informative, but I never found that either.

Sooooo, what did I do? I ordered a Carriercomp tube yesterday, based on the positive reviews I've read and the somewhat cheaper price compared to the FFT.

I'm sure I'll be completely satisfied.

When I queried CC about their upcoming forearm panels with integrated picitanny rail, I was told they're still in development. No other company I'm aware of is developing a replacement handguard that isn't full length picatinny rail, so that's very cool in my book.

I like to give my money to someone that's making the products that I want to buy.

As soon as I receive it in a few weeks, I can give a detailed review right here. If someone that lives in my area wants to meet me somewhere with their FFT tube (after I get mine), that would be awesome also.

What does a mag tube do? Not much actually, it just holds shells. CC and FFT both have ti tubes, one is higher priced is it better. I doubt it. I bought CC because of their ObsessiveCompulsiveDisorder over perfection. :D

I somewhat agree with you. How "good" or "better" can one be over the other? I think from reading the stats regarding the CC and FFT tube, FFT is using a higher grade Ti. I could be wrong, though, I'm no specialist in metals. Does that even matter, especially when you get into Ti? Probably not. Thats about the only real difference as far as I can tell, except that CC has desert sand and he uses Cerakote where FFT doesn't.

I would say they are probably about the same in quality as far as quality goes, but that is just a guess, having seen neither. But, how complicated is a mag tube? Not very. it then comes to price, availability, wait, communication with the seller, etc. That sort of stuff. Some of that stuff goes a long way with me. Some of it doesn't.

Personally, I hope both of them succeed, and both of them increase inventory. They both certainly seem to be taking it seriously and offering good stuff.
