SBE 1 Failure to Feed

I have a SBE 1 SN vo360xx that will not feed the 2nd round from the magazine.

1. It fires the 1st round

2. It ejects the 1st hull

3. The bolt closes following the 1st shot.

4. It does not extract the shell from the magazine.

5. The bolt does not lock back after the final round is shot

I have replaced the recoil spring and the inertia spring.

The load being used is 1 1/8 oz @ 1145 fps Estate

The gun has been altered to 15" LOP with a 3/4 spacer and a 1" Pachmyer recoil pad.

The action is clean and properly lubericated. I suspect an ammunition problem.

Any assistance would be extremely appriciated.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like an ammo issue to me as well. Simple enough to troubleshoot, load up with a mag or two of heavy ammo and see what happens.

When I try to run reduced recoil slugs through my SBE Slug gun, I get the same results. Fires, ejects, bolt forward on an empty chamber.

Best of luck!!!

you are very correct about ammo issue,,the sbe has heavy duty springs all around,,I owned an M1014 once,,the sbe slams shut real hard like the M1014,,all the other models can take the lighter loads cause of the lighter duty springs,,it may take alot of heavy loads to break those springs in proper,,,keep the head bolt pin and the rails lubed,,and fire away
