CWP147 Posted August 9, 2010 Author Share Posted August 9, 2010 Since no one knew and there were 30 sum odd views I decided to find out by contacting Benelli. This is what I got... Crio treatment as you may already know, relieves the stresses in the barrel caused by hammer forging. This process creates a smoother and more uniform surface helping the barrel pattern better and stay cleaner. Since the slug barrels have rifling this process won’t work. It is designed for smooth bore barrels. Hope this helps.
