Benelli Supernova Choke good for Steel?

I plan on going waterfowling with some #3 steel shot and I wanted to make sure that the factory chokes supplied with my Benelli supernova will stand up to steel? My recollection is that chokes that are safe to use with steel are approved for steel, and I'm not sure if the factory chokes are that.

Anyone know?

Thanks!

The only ones you should use with steel shot are:

Modified

Improved Cylinder

Skeet

However, if you are not sure about anything about your Benelli, may I suggest you make refference to your manual.

Yeah, I bought the shotgun 4 or so years back... moved about 5 times in that span, married, now with kids: the manual is LONG gone

Thanks for the answer! I've posted this question in some different forums, and I'm pleased that all the results are rolling back the same!

I know how that feels. With kids and moves and marriage, I'm lucky to find my guns sometimes as my wife does not like having them in our bedroom. I'm surprised she hasn't moved them yet.

Anyhow, I think you can download the manual from the Benelli web site for free. Check it out and good luck.

Cheers:cool:
