2340
LOL. This might sound dumb but.. For those that have been to FS. If I want to stay in a casino hotel on the Vegas strip. Where do you keep your guns after class? Do you just bring them into your hotel room? I'm thinking the casinos wouldn't like that too much. bigthunderbob
Hello, The strip if a hours drive from Front Sight, Most people stay in Pahrump. Saddle West gives discounts to Front Sight students and are used to the guns and people dry practicing in their rooms.
AggiePhil
As someone who has gone through high round count training classes before, my advice would be to select whatever ammo 1) functions reliably in your gun, and 2) is cheap.

John P.
Why not just go to Gunsite? No religion, just guns. And I even met Cooper and got a personal tour of the house when he was still kickin'!
striped1
I second the notion. With all the reputable trainers and schools out there this place would be last on my list.

simpsomi
Sniper: Look, time for me to say something here. I have no idea who has been telling you that Frontsite is a Christian revival meeting. At least the one course last year about this time I went through wasn't one. Not even. I worked as a trainer in the Information Technology business for a number of years, and well designed and conducted training is noticeable. I was trained on long rifles in the Military but never hand held weapons until the four day Defensive Handgun course there last year. I went into that real uncomfortable because of my lack of knowledge and experience. But after an hour or two the first day all of that went away. Our instructor was a skilled and heavily experienced security guy with a military background.....USMC. He never made fun of anyone and helped everyone and there was no such thing as a stupid question. As a result of that class, I now carry a Glock 23 everywhere I go ....comfortably. And ....at no time during any of that 60 hours of training was I asked to listen to anything remotely of a religious nature. Where are all of those comments coming from? Like I said, I could care less about the man's religious convictions although I do respect them. My personal experience there says that the comments made here so far about the training conducted there having a religious component are obviously made by people who have not attended any classes there. Hope that doesn't piss off any of you making those statements.... but if it does....nah....I will be civil and not go there. Do yourself a favor Sniper....with all due respect.....go check it out yourself. I believe you will fine you will more than get your money's worth. ....and that's all I got to say about that..... simpsomi
Striped1....again I ask, where are you coming up with this religious twist to the Frontsite training?.....I went and did a quick search just now and didn't find anything out on the net about any religious points to the training. Am I missing something here that is so obvious I havn't picked up on it yet?

HopetonBrown
I say that the owner of Front Sight kinda creeps me out, and a few guys get butthurt, like you questioned the virtues of their mom. I'm asking honest questions. Can someone answer them without hysterics or name calling? Front Site virtually gives away classes. $89 for a 4 day handgun class! You see people selling memberships and gift certificates to Front Site on the various gun boards for pennies on the dollar; because they received them for free or for pennies on the dollar. Why does Front Site need to deeply discount their training? This is an honest question. The people who sing Front Site praises, have they trained at other sites like Gunsite or Thunder Ranch? Or is it the only training facility they've been to? I ask because when they say how great it is, I want to know if they have anything to compare it to. These are honest questions. I want to know why Front Sight has to virtually give away its product, while other training sites charge big bucks. Gun Site and Thunder Ranch both have several merchandising deals with ammo and gun makers. Why doesn't any manufacturer want to be associated with Front Sight? The owner calls himself a "millionare patriot", but Front Sight is in court mandated receivership. Front Sight aggressively advertises online, Gun Site and Thunder Ranch don't. I second the notion. With all the reputable trainers and schools out there this place would be last on my list.
hattles
HopetonBrown, all I did was google Front Sight reviews and bingo. I would suggest you not consider taking a class at Front Sight though, the Scientolgy "boogy man" might be lurking, waiting to single you out and put a hex on you. AggiePhil
Front Sight is essentially seen as a joke. Gunsite, on the other hand, is a completely different training company (albeit, with a similar sounding name) that has a long reputation as a quality outfit. That having been said, I've lately been hearing that Gunsite's teachings have become a bit antiquated and have failed to evolve with the times. If you want to take a shotgun class, my advice would be to train with Awerbuck, Magpul, or James Yeager.
LeoAtrox
Front Sight is essentially seen as a joke. Seeing something as a joke, and it actually being a joke are two different things. I have to admit that I look at a lot of the Front Sight marketing material with amusement, but I won't discount the training based on that. Ultimately, what is most telling is what people who have attended classes actually say about it; and, so far, I've not seen a lot of bad reports coming out of Nevada. AggiePhil
I agree. I also however have not heard any positive reports about this company in the groups which I associate with. YMMV.
