SBEII Camo Bubbling and Peeling

I use the oil provided with the gun to wipe down the exterior. I figure it is what should be used on it. I have to clean and wipe it down after each outing. I'm using the gun for duck hunting over salt water in the Florida Panhandle. A few days after I noticed the area that had peeled I called customer service. The lady I spoke to said to use the gun for the season and return it after it was over so I would not be without the brand new gun, but this bubbling is rediculous. I want to return it t the factory now. I'm beginning t think the prep prior to the coating application was flawed.

This gun has been used 4 times. Once 3 weeks ago when I purchased it to get use to it at the range and once two weeks ago and twice a week ago while hunting. I find it hard to believe that the little salt water exposure could be the culprit. I am calling customer service today to return the gun so the problem can be remedied.

Using water to clean a gun doesn't even sound right. I sent the gun back to Benelli. It is unacceptable to have a brand new gun (that cost so much in my world) have such defects. I believe the surface had some contaminate present prior to application of the camo. If there are such strict limitations to cleaning and oiling you would think it would appear in the Use and Maintenance Manual.

Unreal! My gun returned from Benelli on Friday Jan 13. Just in time for Saturday hunting. I didn't expect to see it for quite some time, especially after I recieved a post card the week prior that said it may be at the factory another 45 days. I was truly amazed when I inspected the gun. The coating was flawless. If I didn't have serial numbers to prove it was the same gun, I wouldn't believe it. The gun also performed flawlessly as well. My hats off to Benelli for the exceptional customer service, an outstanding quality warranty repair and a lightening fast turnaround time. I wasn't real happy with Benelli when I first discovered the coating defects, but I have nothing bad to say after the gun returned from Benelli. I'm a Benelli believer again. Thanks Benelli!
