Super Sport - Light loads / adj comb

Will the super sport cycle with 7/8 oz loads ( say at 1150 fps ) - if not, how about 1 oz loads at 1200 fps ?

On the adj comb - is it possible to essentially make it paralell with the rib - by using spacers on the receiver - or how can you make it paralell ?

Thanks in advance for your time.

It may cycle light target loads after break-in, but it's designed to cycle standard target loads which generate 140 kg or more of kinetic energy.

There is no adjustable comb on the Super Sport or Sport II.

Shims allow for some adjustment of cast on or off and drop at heel.

The drop change values can be viewed in the owner's manuals, which are available on the Italian website.

I have taken combs out of 2 Benellis, and they are pretty tricky. The extra high comb, with the appropriate shim, should be parallel or almost parallel with the rib. You can get the raised and extra high combs from brownells. This would be good for mounting a scope, but that would be an awful high POI. I would get the raised comb, and experiment with the shims.

Clean the inside of the gun thoroughly, and apply light oil, and shoot a couple boxes of 3" and it should cycle 1 oz fine. I am not sure about 7/8, possibly. You can also pattern as you shoot the 3" and find the POI. Put the Z shim in it is the closest to parallel with the rib.
