Hey guys i'm new to Benelli, well actually im kinda new to the whole bird scene. Anyway i was wondering if anyone knows what the bolt in the novas are made of? Mine doesn't cycle as smooth as i'd like it to and i was wondering if polishing it would help. I know on my 22 polishing the bolt does wonders, is this possible to polish the bolt. Thank you in advance.

No takers huh? It's made out of forged, heat treated steel. I'd clean it, lube it correctly... light gun grease on the sliding parts, gun oil on the turning parts... and shoot several hundred rounds through it. Come on back if it hasn't smoothed out considerably. :)

Cheers,

No biggie. If you read threads about Benellis (and other brands as well), being rough, not cycling or being finicky about ammo, more often than not, it's with a new gun that was taken out of the box and shot without a good clean, lube and break-in.

Pumps, gas guns, inertia... all the same deal. New Benelli M2s, for example, can be really snotty with light field shells, until the recoil spring and tube get disassembled, cleaned and lubed... then magically, they'll cycle damn near anything.
