Gaucha of Brazil / Stoeger ??? HELP

Recommended Posts

I've got an older Uplander side-by-side that says "Gaucha and Brazil" stamped on it. I got it super-cheap at a garage sale and need to figure out where I can get a trigger guard for it. I've seen the same exact gun on Stoeger's website right down to the "Uplander" name. Does anybody know if Stoeger bought some company in Brazil called Gaucha, and more importantly does anybody know where I could look for a trigger guard for this old shotgun. Like I said I got it real cheap but there is no trigger guard and I don't feel that it's safe to use without one. By the way I am new to this forum and want to say "hi" to everybody and look forward to some good discussions. I've read some good threads on here already.

By the way I hope that nobody minds me posting this in the Benelli forum, but in my experience Benelli owners are more knowledgeable than most about shotguns and it also looks like the Benelli section also has the most people viewing it. Let me know if this bothers anybody. I'll be happy to delete the thread if it really bothers someone...

here are a couple pics of the gun's "belly". it's pretty scratched up down there but it says "Gaucha" "Made in Brazil". it's missing the trigger guard which is what I started the thread about. as I said the gun is identical to Stoeger's "Uplander".
