mudhen
The answer can only be provided by you when you select the base/ring height. mudhen - CA
tucker301
Roughly - Try medium rings with a 40mm and high rings with a 50mm objective lens. Here are Leupold's ring heights. Other makers should be very similar. Medium rings - .77 inches High rings - .90 inches Super high rings - 1.00 inches These are measured from the top of the mounting surface to the bottom of the scope tube. tucker301
If you're going to use a low mounted scope all of the time, consider removing the rear sights altogether.

mudhen
Maybe try Leopold Quick Release w/med rings? I did that on my Omega muzzle loader so I can switch from scope to red dot to open sights depending on the F&G laws of the area I happen to be hunting that day. mudhen - CA
