SBE3 Extractor

Recommended Posts

I am trying to remove the extractor from the bolt head on my SBE3 but I can't for the life of me get the pin out.  I don't want to hammer it too hard.  I can't find any videos online.  What am I doing wrong?  Does it only come out from one direction?  The part looks like a standard roll pin.  Thanks.

The pin only comes out from one direction. You drive out the pin by inserting a flat tip punch into the hole opening that only allows you to see a portion on the pin's diameter-in other words your punch will contact about ½ of the edge of the pin's end

That sounds tricky. I was helping a buddy installing the brake kit and xd wheels on his truck when he mentioned he's having hard time removing the extractor. We'll check it out this weekend.
