Charlie_S
Hi, I just bought a Montefeltro 12 ga. My son was assembling for me and an aluminum pin with the dimensions 5mm diameter by 8.125 inches long fell on his foot. We think it goes into the threaded part that holds the for-end in place. Just want to verify before we take it out today. TIA, Charlie
StrangerDanger
This might help locate where it goes. 106 sounds about right? Probably a plug for the magazine tube. Edited November 20, 2019 by StrangerDanger
Charlie_S
Thanks! That's it. It limits it to 2+1. Benelli states this gun is a 4+1. I understand the compliance aspect (sort of) but wonder if I need to buy a shorter plug if I want to get to 4+1 or if I can just remove it. I need the shell limitation to legally hunt but would like the added capacity when shooting clays on my nephew's farm.
StrangerDanger
4+1 should be fine for clays. They sell the M4's with 5+1 capacity, so you're good to go. The limiter is meant for hunting restrictions.
Charlie_S
Thanks, again. Can I just remove the plug when I want the added capacity? It certainly seems to be the case.
StrangerDanger
Yep, that's how it should work. The plugs are just temporary capacity reduction.
Charlie_S
Great. I am new to the semi-auto world. Break-action since the '60's; I may have some other questions regarding the mechanics of this fine shotgun. Shot about a hundred clays yesterday and looking forward to upland hunting with it.
