mvm9186
I would like to know if you can shoot slugs in regular barrell and if so what type of slug to use, and what choke to use if any. I am going to look at slug barrell in near future but need to know if I can improvise in the meantime. This will be used for deer hunting
69beers
Yes you can shoot slugs. I would use only the cylinder choke or get a rifled choke for sabots. Try out the Brenneke slugs as they seem very accurate out of smooth bore guns and do a number on deer. If you get a rifled barrel try out the Lightfields or Winchester Partition Golds. I've also heard the Federal Barnes 3/4oz are great out of SBEs but I haven't tried them out yet.
