rhodesengr
I have had my Ethos Sport for only a few months. The trigger guard pin is so loose, it can almost fall out. I could just buy another pin but that won't help if the hole it goes in is too big. Is this known issue? Is the problem with the pin or the trigger assembly? Vertigofirearms
Check if you have this spring:
rhodesengr
Check where? What part number is that?
rhodesengr
Is that part of the trigger assembly?
Vertigofirearms
Part number is 60504. It is literally the only spring holding your troublesome trigger pin in place. If it is not that then you may need to put in a warranty request.
rhodesengr
OK. I will take a look for that. I thought the pin was held in by sort of a press-fit, fiction fit. Seems like that on my Super Nova
Vertigofirearms
Your Super nova has the same spring for both trigger pins. The Ethos has two as well, but only one is used to keep the pin in place.
truckcop
That spring retains the pin by catching on one of the grooves in the pin. It's just above the safety button, on one side or the other.

rhodesengr
so that spring is there. But it doesn't hold the pin. It holds the trigger pin bushing https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/60462 I think that is the part that that is supposed to be a friction fit with the pin. But now that I took the trigger assembly out, I can't get it all the way back in
rhodesengr
or if the spring is supposed to engage the slot in the pin, the spring does not appear to be protruding through the bushing
Vertigofirearms
Rotate it a bit, play around with it. Get to know your gun.
truckcop
Flat portion of the spring should definitely protrude into the bushing through that slot. Give a little tap, maybe?
rhodesengr
I fixed the spring. It now protrudes into the bushing like it should. But I still can't get the trigger assembly back in to the receiver. It seems like the rear edge is hitting. It was in before and came out so is there some trick to getting it to slide forward the last little bit?
Vertigofirearms
hold the bolt release button down, then push the trigger in.
rhodesengr
I am doing that. Following instructions in the manual. It is hanging up on something. I do appreciate the help guys.
Vertigofirearms
did you cock the hammer?
rhodesengr
yes
Vertigofirearms
There is likely something just slightly misaligned causing the hang up. Make sure nothing is protruding out of the trigger assembly.
truckcop
look through the trigger pin hole and see where the mis-match is with the bushing. You might just need to give the rear of the trigger guard and slight push forward and then up into the receiver
rhodesengr
OK, I got it. Took some rather firm pressure and then it "popped" in. The pin is now also retained by the spring like it supposed to be. I wonder how the spring got misalined with the bushing. Thanks for all the help guys.
594craig
rhodesengr, removed the trigger assembly on my Ethos Sport for cleaning and now I'm having trouble reinstalling it as you had. The rear edge the trigger assembly won't fully seat so the trigger pin holes are misaligned. Looks like it needs go slightly forward and up. What exactly diode do to get it in? rhodesengr
Basically just firm pressure. But, I did talk to Benelli support on the phone and the admitted they also has some trouble with the Ethos trigger assembly. They mentioned taking some material off the back edge of the plate. Like with a Dremel.
Nomaspescado
I too, had the same problems as described above with my new Ethos Be.S.T. model that I purchased last summer. I believe that someone on the assembly line in Italy had a really bad day during the early lockdowns of Covid.. The little D-Clip was not installed properly into the cut outs and flew across the room. And, the plastic trigger housing must have been installed with a heavy mallet. I found the solution was to mark up the duck bill opening of the front of the housing (that fits up and sandwiches the aluminum receiver) to see where the stoppage is occurring. I used a thin, flat file to open it up till it fit as it should, ensuring that the trigger guard pin aligned. If I would have shaved material off of the back of the housing, the pin would not have aligned. Benelli is having issues with some of their plastic trigger housings, especially with the Ethos line. I got another trigger housing from Benelli that fit just as bad as the original. The solution that I spoke of was relayed to me by one of their techs. They would have done the same if I had sent it back to them.
