Goose
I just bought an SBEII, going shooting today. I have a few questions: 1. The "specs" page on the website says the capacity is 3 + 1, is that for 3.5 or 2 3/4 shells? 2. When I had the fore-end cap off i noticed an orange piece of plastic under the retainer ring, is that a magazine plug? If I take it out (can I?) do i get more capacity or do I need to take it out to get the advertised capacity? 3. North Carolina specifies a max capacity of 3 rounds for duck hunting. Is that in the magazine or total? Lots of questions I know, but I don't see the answers in the manual. Bill
Chester-TN
. Federal Law says when you are hunting Migrating Birds, your gun must be limited to holding 3 shells. That is 1 in the chamber and 2 in the magazine. The orange piece of plastic you mentioned is the plug which should limit the magazine capacity to 2 shells. It should not matter which length shells you use, or combination of lengths. It is best to test it yourself. If you can put three 2-3/4" shells in the magazine, even if you are actually using longer shells, you would still be considered illegal. No more than 1 in the chamber and 2 in the magazine for Hunting Migrating Birds. .......Chester-TN . EFLOYD
Like has already been said.........you're good to go out of the box. Had my SBEII only a few months and I tested the capacity.....it's two in the mag of any length.
CaptainCharles
I have heard you can get a fourth shell in it. Somehow under the bolt, between the mgazine and the shell feeder.....
EFLOYD
Not sure about the SBE II, but I think you could do that with the SBE. Called floating a shell........still illegal for waterfowl.
