MyBoyElroy
I prefer the original mil-spec CLP (Clean, Lubricate, Protect) by either Break-Free or Royco. Use it on all my firearms from the M1S90 to an 1886 Boss & Co. For everything except a sand-dust atmosphere it cannot be beaten.
mudhen
Yep, I prefer the CLP too. mudhen - CA

mudhen
I have used it in the past. It is thicker and stays in place I recall. Works fine. I prefer how CLP runs into cracks and down the rails. Also really like how it blackens synthethic stocks. So, I prefer CLP, that's why I said it... mudhen - CA

IdahoDucker
CLP . . . excellent stuff. If I remember right CLP has been the product that has come closest to meeting military specifications since the seventies when it was invented. Could be something better now but I haven't heard of it. I saw the breakdown as to how CLP compares to the milspec and it was pretty impressive. Didn't meet everything 100% but pretty close. Can't find that site now. Anyway, I haven't found a reason to use anything else.
Cleric
CLP is the only lube/cleaner that I use. Have never had any problems with it and everything is as it should be (free of rust and moving easily). Worth every penny, IMHO.
gwgdog66
Good stuff. I've been in the military 23+ years, and have used it on every issue weapon I've ever had. I use it on my own weapons. It pulls carbon out of the metal, until none is left.
