MudHenKiller
I have just picked up a new M2. I have heard that a lot of people open the gun up upon receiving it and clean out a lot of the grease on the inside. Is this reccomended and if so, what grease should I leave, and what should I remove. thanks guys.
wallhanger54
Dont know about grease but a basic cleanup wouldnt hurt it. But do oil it. A new gun needs oil though. Dont worry about it being a little oily. Put some oil on the bolt rails and shoot the crap out of it to help break it in. Oh, and have fun! Slamfire
The heavy packing grease may hinder the movements of some parts. It doesn't hurt to remove it and lubricate the gun with a light oil instead. This grease is in there to avoid corrosion during long storage or display periods, not to lubricate moving parts.
