mudhen
Hevi Steel works fine for me - #4 has been good in the rice at 35 yards or so - hits kinda like steel #3's - good for rice ducks like widge & teal. Bought four cases this year for close in work... mudhen - CA

WI_LabLover
I just read a great article about Hevi Steel. But then I read posts from guys saying they see no difference. Hard to get to the facts! I suppose if we work the birds right and they cooperate, we wouldn't need to be concerned with lethality at 50 yds
hooftrimmer 1
In Vermont we have short seasons. And not alot of ducks we have to make each shot count. so we are always looking for a better duck load.

I've shot the hevi-steel through several different guns. it acts much the hevi-shot, quite a bit cheaper though. haven't found the ideal choke for yet. anyone with any info that would be great. i called Hevi-shot today and they wouldn't recommend a particular brand choke. i think patternmaster will be the next one. last year we were dropping last season geese 40-50 yards out!!
