Generally speaking, this exercise is a good one. We all should be highly critical of any "non-profit" or humanitarian effort to which we give our money. Bottom line, if their operating costs are high, that's less of our money which is going to our cause. If they are performing actions outside of the bounds of their charter or worse (Tuck's example), that's our money being wasted again.

You wondered why i said anything..

This is the last of the aticle tucker posted.

But of late they've grown embittered by a lack of ducks, and if they get even a hint their efforts are being wasted, their contributions to Canada -- and everyone involved -- will dry up faster than Saskatchewan's prairie potholes did this last hot summer.

The whole article was a HINT...

NOW what isnt good to hear is Clerics

DU has the highest operating costs by percentage than any other conservation nonprofit.

Now to what i KNOW..

Of what i have seen that DU has purchased around here could do nothing but help waterfowl numbers.

But ...there are more Fox here than chickens..

It's not about foxes and chickens.

It's simply a matter of accountability and responsibility.

Look at this way.

If DU could learn to operate more efficiently and effectively, they could pump even more of our dollars into your local economy, purchase even more habitat, and do even more favors for their...OK, strike that last one.

Just because a non-profit does things we like for them to do overall; they don't have a greenlight to squander our contributions.

Admittedly, we perhaps hold DU to a higher standard than we do our own government.

But the government isn't a non-profit, they're more of a never profit; and we don't have much of a choice as to whether we contribute to them or not.

No doubt DU does some good, but they've become bloated, corrupted, and complacent to at least some degree.

Holding them accountable now could stop from them derailing altogether and leaving a huge void in Canada and a lot of other places.

Admittedly, DU is THE waterfowl conservastionists group, but they must live up to the persona they have created for themselves, and not let a good thing go bad.
